On ze maps the main challenge is to beat the map so why not get a point for doing so.
I suggest that we give players one point for completing the map so people get scored on how well they do on the map not on how many zombies they kill.
I think that this is a good idea because CSS already does it with objectives on the bomb game mode.

you only get point rewards from bomb explosions/defuses, not hostage rescues.

Don't you already get at least 20 for winning? It's been a while since I played ZE... but in the past, if I'm not doing something in another window, I typically track the higher kdr players in ZE because they are either interesting or suspicious. To figure kill count leaders and not plain scoreboard leaders, I assume that all players have won the map as a human; subtract their score by 20 x ct wins and divide by deaths. Although I think you can get 20 through other means, like on deathstar.
And if I can recall correctly, there was a stats allocation rework that rewards players (via psychostats, not in game score) for being on the winning team for all maps. I think ZE was the motive for it. I'm too lazy to search up the thread, and at least current and future ZE players have this concession.

Hey thecat, friendly advice from a fellow forum goer - rather than take their jests and insults incredulously, you should open your arms and embrace their japes. That's how you take their power away - by ending their game and trying to cuddle with them.
Although if you take this advice, I have a feeling people are going to be disappointed that they no longer get to make massive amounts of fun of you. :smirk:

Normally I'd just let the forum flame wars rage, but I read somewhere that thecat really is a kid (I think I read he's in middle school?) so I took some pity on him. I have a soft spot for awkward, angsty and socially under developed kids. I used to be one of them not all that long ago, after all. I also enjoy the luxury of having not dealt with him for the length of time you guys have.

Yes but where do these bonus points go.
Do they go to your KDR or somewhere else.
If they don't go to the KDR they should go to the KDR.
I can't be the forum bitch if I have not been an admin since the last rewards, right?

Why are you so obsessed with KDR or rank? Just have fun with the server/map man. Some maps, you advance to the next/harder level, and the achievement of beating it should be enough man. Stop being a rank whore.
It's the teamwork that IBIS is building that should be the achievement, not the skills gain.

When I say that I am very good at ze than I want to be able to back it.
Team work is what you should do to get that higher KDR, I would like the points to go to KDR so you WILL be judged on your teamwork not on how many secrets you know, how many zombies you kill.

KDR is a kill to death ratio. In essence, you are suggesting that KDR should be raised for activities for which no kills are being gained. Yeah... we have a winner.

Setting up a bomb is an activate, so why not do that with completing a map.
But fuck it nothing will be done anyway.

I think those three points you gain for the bomb are not counted towards KDR... not sure, don't really care either way. And if that's what's tearing you up inside, we already let you know that you get 20 points on the scoreboard for successful escapes. Not 20 kills, 20 points. If you want a nice, big KDR for your eighth grade ego, I suggest you play better. Not beg for handouts like this.
I don't even understand why I try to get through this skull... >_>

Here is where stats are shown: PsychoStats (http://www.ibisgaming.com/zm_stats/index.php)
But you're missing the picture... no one cares about your rank/KDR/kills with a certain gun/how many times you won an escape map. You won't win anyone's affection or admiration because you can run through voodoo island 90% of the time. It's merely a way to show your progress, for your own benefit, not to wave it around like it actually means something to others. My advice: Live in the moment, enjoy wins/kills when you get them, and if you're gonna go out; go out with a bang :smirk:

The points you get for completing the objective in zm/ze take effect more in the skill on your psycostats page, not so much in-game. This skill is where your rank comes from, and seeing as most bonus points in maps like the special 1000 in atix do not effect this rank, the scoreboard literally means nothing. The only maps you should even care at all about KDR is zm maps, where the objective IS the kill zombies and survive.
