So Spasm banned me for teaching my friend how to play, and he takes a demo of 2 rounds while im getting messaged on steam and facebook. (You can see me having to ult tab back in and out) Then bans me, if you watch the Source TV demo, you'll see that i'm trying to teach my NOOB friend whos had this game for 4! days how to play, He didn't even know that you could right click knife people. I think this is getting ridiculous.... Please watch the Source TV and explain to me how teaching a friend how to play is worth a ban, Gekke Boy sat there on Aztec and farmed for hours, and yet hes gotten no ban. I'm really confused.. If you guys would like I can start recording my Skype chat so you can hear me explaining races and items to him, plus tatics. He was killing me over and over, but he was trying to catch me and learn to knife as a flame pred. I really don't see the reason for a ban

Your making an ass out of yourself. Even in the two round demo you shot the bomb and sit and watched him defuse without any kind of attack, that is level farming any way you want to put it. I am leaving this open so everyone can laugh at how fucking stupid you are.

I actually only banned them for 3 days as we are supposed to temp ban first. I recall him a few days ago saying how easy it would be to gain levels by someone letting them get free kills and the whole server saying it was against the rules. He's new and I feel like a longer ban would be too harsh, but the way he is going about this makes me want to ban him way longer.

it's level farming because you're taking advantage of the empty server to get free levels. wether you intended to farm levels or not, makes no difference. being caught with a naked child in your van and you'll get in trouble, no matter how loudly you yell that you were simply trying to keep them warm and how you were not going to molest them. Level farming and rank manip. are serious offences here, ones that you two only got 3 days for. I am sure that the 3 day ban was NOT a perma because spasm was giving you the benefit of the doubt. does it suck? yes. can you change it? possibly. try sending spasm a PM on here or on steam, and calmly ask if there's anything you can do to get unbanned. might work, might not. but claiming innocence like you are (after having been told earlier that what you were doing was against the rules) is not going to help.



also, you guys could have been using the WCS test server instead.

What WCS test server? And Their are plenty of people who 1v1, or 2v1 in the server. Trust me I've watched GangNam and Gekke boy do it.... Yet I don't see either of them getting banned.

That's because people go neck n neck race whoring, making gentleman agreements, etc. I know because I've been a part of this (and will admit to doing 1v1s / 2v1s / 2v2s) using the "gentleman agreement" rules of like pistols only, one bombsite, knife only, no high damage races. As long as both parties are making an attempt to do the objective + kill one another without purposely getting killed, it is legit.

Somebody can correct me if I'm in the wrong though. There's probably a better way to put this but yeah, what else are the people who are up early on east coast going to do, stare at the bots that make the server look populated?

1v1 etc. as long as you're making attempts at the objective and/or killing the other party/parties is perfectly legal. planting for xp, letting a friend defuse for xp, is manipulation, and is not allowed.

if you plant and decide to message instead of preventing your opponent from defusing, that's a conscious choice to let him defuse in my book, and is manipulation. if you plant, walk away to make a sandwich...it's understood you're letting him do it. the fact that you were doing something else doesn't make you innocent.

nope its legit. Just as long as you are actually trying to kill each other.

Regardless raiL you will serve your 3 day ban. I know whats on the demo and its you obviously watching him defuse the bomb right in front of you for 2 straight rounds. That is level farming and nothing you will say will prove otherwise. By the way, there is a user ban request section and you can take demos or post the sourceTV demos of anyone breaking rules. I am closing this thread and if you make another unban request for this ban again I will increase the ban substantially. Closed.
