I did. Lots of fun and would've been better if not for people, but w/e. It's over.

Yes, although I want other people to get a chance to host it. I'll be working on 2 setups (One of them is "Game of Thrones" (it will be like more normal setups that I've done elsewhere - complete clusterfuck with multiple winning conditions/factions/etc with a lot of people) and the other is will be between IBIS Community and probably Arrested Development) both of which I'll actually try to balance and test out before going through with them, which means they won't come for a while. I'll probably play or co-mod the next upcoming game if anyone's interested.

Correct. I'm not going to reveal the factions, but yes, it would be active people in IBIS who'd actually be the mafia characters.

yes, i had fun.

ideas for the ibis game:

nemesis - town-aligned, but investigates as mafia. wins if all "dumb niggers" are banned
dumb niggers - 3rd party group, people like thecat, les grossman, chi-town, win if the game finishes before they're banned
rapedollars - town or mafia, night power - blackout ban: bans one person at random each night (town/mafia get removed for the next day, dumb niggers are removed permanently
maynard - town, similar to rape, except he gets to ban one person intentionally every night.

I haven't said I enjoyed the game because I'm accustomed to writing long EOGs. That said, here we go!

First, main reason I was being so diametrically opposed to Ownsy's style of "do NOTHING" was because I figured, "as long as I can explain myself out of a lynch, I'm fine". However, I expected a shorter game, because I didn't think I said enough to warrant being shot every chance you people got. Worked out in the end.

Also, two of my votes were "worse statistically, but better from my point of view" this game. On the last day, yes, it would have been better to wait for the next day statistically, but I was in a bit of a bind. I assumed Rape would survive one way or the other, and as I figured I had been shot a lot recently, either we'd have Rape, myself and one other left, or I'd be shot again and we'd STILL be at 4 man. Given Rape wasn't exactly listening to what I was saying, I felt I had a better chance voting with wolf. If that really was a coin flip, I made the wrong choice there, even if it worked out in the end. I'd rather not win by pure chance. Onto the reasons I didn't want to be alive with 2 other people. If Brett survived, I was concerned he could convince Rape to vote for me, which is bad for me with either being mafia. If Wolf was mafia, I wasn't sure any claim I made to Rape would have stuck. If Rape was mafia, well I honestly had no idea how wolf would vote. I really couldn't trust Rape to make a good choice. He made a cross vote, and invited a cop over as PGO. If he did a quick vote on me, game could be over in a flash. If anyone decided to ask about my ability next day, it would have been a treat to figure out how to (fake) claim. As such I'd rather go with Wolf's vote and hope he made the right one.

I will say, I'm not sure if I'd have gone along with a "flip" on Rape. As I wanted to vote Brett, I was willing to roll with the result of his flip. If he had chosen Rape I would have, because that would have signified some thought. If he flipped Rape, I would have seen starting doing research into what Tom would have done if there was no vote by the time the voting period was done, and tried to find some excuse not to get Rape lynched by a random vote this late in the game. Yeah, it would have been scummy after saying I'd go with Wolf, but if Brett chose to shoot wolf after that, hopefully Rape would decide that I wasn't trying to kill him. If Brett shot me again, well, I'd have to REALLY sell my story, and hope it was bloody obvious that I was shot that night.

Another possibly bad, but to me necessary, vote was lynching Nem, as I figured he was town. The fact Brett went with me was yet another thing that surprised me about Brett's game. I seriously could not figure Brett out. But, with Nem going from "you're lying" to "best buddies" with Brett, changing from "slow vote" to "hammer this NOW", and not letting me get information from Rape, was a little off. There were a bunch of other little things I was having troubles with too. Why did he declare the day 4 enemy? Why did he go from reasoning to shoot first, questions later? Did he feel I cleared Brett, and if so, why doesn't he trust me? In any case, why doesn't he trust me? I'd made plenty of mistakes, some on purpose, some not so much. Why did he not call me on anything? Seriously, what was up with the Brett deal? Why did he vote Rape in the first place? Given he didn't seem to trust me, why didn't he vote me? Is it really less dangerous to have the talkey one alive than the mostly silent, erratic one?

But I really didn't think he was scum. Part of it was me wondering, why Rape? For a scum, the only reason I could figure out, was he believed Rape was PGO, and therefore, not a good night kill target. Masskid already had a vote on him, and STILL said nothing. If he voted Brett, he could have just agreed with me that Brett was a little too "off". Brett was distrusting Rape, but I assume he'd have voted me just as quickly. In hindsight, that seems like a justified thought, given he tried to off me twice. So why choose to lynch rape first? Nem just seemed to be more desperate and in GG mode than scummy. Would have liked to give him time to claim or do something, but given he was rushing the vote, I was feeling too much pressure.

Beyond that, I tried to reason out a lot of things, and was largely ignored. Sadly, the one person who was paying attention justified in ignoring parts, as they were points against him. This's part of why I was hesitant to join the game in the first place, I know people on this forum don't like long posts. It's my style, and I do quite enjoy making those kinds of posts. Once I realized it was in vain, I started making smaller posts, not that those helped any more than the longer posts :/

Brett: you played such a strange game. Seriously couldn't tell if you were mafia or not. Actually thought you might be "Jack" mafia. Was enjoying a lot of it. Your calling "doctor" on me made my life easier, since it can be a real pain to declare "just bulletproof" and be taken seriously. You made the game enjoyable. Wonder if that convoluted story would have been helpful or a hindrance with more analytically inclined people.

Rape: Basically what I've been saying the whole game. You looked new, you played new, so figured you were being brutally honest, if a little confused.

Mass/What: Mass was playing "I'm here, I'm here" without doing much. It was bizarre, and I wasn't sure if it was "I'm busy" or "I'm scummy". Once you were replaced, confirming for the most part you were busy, you stayed 2nd most suspicious because I was just not very suspicious of Rape and felt Wolf wouldn't be able to kill while dead, something I'd decided would have had to happen last night. I stayed silent till the end of that day, and just hammered it when I saw it was there.

Wolf: See! You would have turned evil... Eventually... It was fun. I think you're the only one who voted for me. At first I was suspicious of your coming back, because I forgot you existed and then assumed it was a one time use. Your coming back plus no deaths that night threw me for a loop. Soon after, I figured it might be multiple time use, and was waiting for you to declare such. When you didn't finally decided to ask.

Nem: Up until the point where you flipped, I was able to follow your line of logic, even if I didn't agree with it. It was interesting. As it's been bugging me since you did it, can you explain why you choose Brett as your ally?

Everyone else: You were dead by the time I got there, or shortly thereafter.

Tom: Thanks for the game. Thanks for putting up with everyone. Not so much thanks for those caricatures of me, even if they are accurate... It was a well run game, with some good lessons for all involved. Thoroughly enjoyable and fun. Haven't played mafia in a while, this was an interesting way to get back to it.

As a closing statement, I'm really not sure why no one voted for me. I started a vote on Nem, who turned out to be Town. I hammered What after not saying a word for 3 days. Even though that was right, it wasn't mafia, and a mafia member would be just as willing to hammer a vote as a town would. I would say nothing about my ability. I always seemed to be people's second choice to vote for. Even wolf had to change his vote to vote for me. I figured Brett was doing it to allow his "doctor" claim to not be revealed if I showed up being bulletproof. Anyone care to comment why I was so trustworthy?

You should learn to write long posts, they're fun! But seriously, that's most of my thought process for the game. If anyone does care, they can feel free to read it.

I did, although I think more of an enigma rather than a rule in these forums. As far as that caricature goes - I was depicting later what was happening within the town and since they all were complaining, I thought i'd be fun to add it.

I personally had fun with it. Granted I wasn't gonna be dead permanently unless Tom decided to Modkill me (which was threatened for almost pulling a Spasm ... no faith in me >.> :lmao: )
But yeah, I don't mind doing these in the future, as we can get an entertaining group in it. Thank you Tom for hosting, will shoot you in face or something later possibly. :wtg:
