Other/Reason to unban: I don't and never have used any program to hack. I just wanted to play some warcraft on a new server and your guys's server looked like one of the better ones(no awp/auto), but then i was displayed a message that i had been banned. So i would like it very much if i could get onto your servers.

Illuminati_NWO (aka h4x0|2) banned you, and was subsequently banned by yours truly for avoiding his previous perma. i pulled up the demo and made the ban thread as he hadn't done so prior to his being banned.

i'll go back and double check the demo real quick but i seriously doubt anything beyond that will happen.

edit: just remembered we can't watch those old demos. but there was no question it was hax.

the recent valve update fucked it all up. theoretically if you have an intact install from before that update you could watch it, but you picked a pretty shitty time to do this frankly. but like i said, there was no question in your case. if there was any, it would've been brought up by one of the 3 of us (owns & cyber voting, me making the thread). i see you have no history of it, but i've seen plenty of similar cases that were just as obvious. i didn't even have to post up several ticks as i do with the tougher bans.

I have never hacked. I am very good when i have been drinking way to much coke. I mean srsly good i can go 20 and 0 sometimes, but i promise i have never hacked. If i can't play on your guys's server i guess there is probably somewhere else that has no awp/auto.

it's not about how good you are, it's crosshair movement. jerky, mechanical movements + headshots = suspicious. that's what i suspect was in that demo, but i can't say to what extent.

i mean it though i have never hacked before in my life. i have played this game since the day counter-strike was released as a mod for half-life. I have never had a reason to hack do to my level of skill.

and we've heard all that before.

i'm VERY hesitant to say a mistake was made in this case, but i will say this: after searching his IP, IP's and steamid's of his local friends, i can't find any other hacking bans.

Unban him and it will be a matter of time until he's banned again. Even if he wasn't hacking (he undoubtedly was) if his play style 'while drinking so much coke' (seriously? This is your excuse?) is such that his mouse movements become aimbot-like (impossible unless you seriously have a physical handicap or do it on purpose), we'll just get another demo of his Parkinson's riddled kills and ban him again.

Also, anyone who comes on the forum and pleads their case by stating 'I've played CS since it came out I've never had to hack because I'm soooo goooooooood' is a hacker. :lmao:

I would not go overturning confirmed bans (by two ULAs and one clan, at that, all three of which REFUSE to ban ANYONE unless CLEAR and CONCISE evidence is provided in demo form) because the old demos are no longer viewable. That sets a very dangerous precedent. myg0t gonna be all over this forum posting unban requests. :P

No precedent, jw. And if he was banned right away then no big deal. My guess here is a source bug, which we've seen before, or he dl'ed some hacks, got banned right away, and got rid of them. Our population in the servers and here has been decreasing recently, so if one of those things happened he should be welcome here.

Annoy and I are in the process of opening that old demo in an old version of CSS we have found. Trying to record it via 3rd party program and having issues. The demo in the forums won't even load completely. I'll post here if we make any progress.


Edit: Update on what's going on, we can't view the demo properly because we don't have the WCS files. So everytime a WCS only thing happens it crashes. Anyone have some pre-update WCS files? lmao

Edit#2: I was able to grab the current WCS files and then pick through them and place them where they belong on the old verson and we have a working demo! We are going to record it and post it somewhere.

As of right now, there are no signs of him hacking. All his "random" shots can be explained by surround sound, which you will not be able to hear in the demo since 3rd party apps won't record surround sound. We will try to point them out as we go. Also, there is no shaky crosshair or anything. I'll update when we have a link to the video.

i've talked to zero about this, and as the admin who submitted the successful perma ban request, i take over responsibility as banning admin. as banning admin, i reserve the right to revoke the ban at any time for any reason.

shark, i'm choosing to unban you. to other admins: this sets no precedent, you will never be required nor encouraged to unban hackers. this one doesn't stick in my head as particularly overt, and we've seen source glitches before. just know this shark: if you are hacking, i can and will catch you, no matter how clever you think you are with it. one thing that could help is to make sure your rates are correct: rate 30000, cl_cmdrate 67, cl_updaterate 67. i've seen people look super jittery, fix their rates, and they're golden.

enjoy your time on the servers and i encourage you to stick around the forums as well. crazy shit happens here sometimes. crazy shit like this.
