Game of Thrones airs on Sunday night.
I wasn't surprised by this episode (or any episode), because I know how to read. :P

It's a nice day for a Red Wedding.
"And from this day forth, they shall be one, they will shall be linked by body, and by blood..."

That's a really bad idea. A lot of things are different in the books as they are on the show.
Also next season isn't A Feast for Crows, its the second half of A Storm of Swords.

Show is so good. Books are so much better. They change a SHITLOAD of stuff from the books to get it to fit in ten hours a season. Most of the changes are good, some are sufferable and some are downright wtf worthy (luckily those are pretty few and far between). They do an AMAZING job of encompassing a thousand pages worth of novel in ten hours worth of show. The core of the story is there intact, that much can definitely be said.
Anyway Mikey, if you were blown away by the Red Wedding, just wait. Season four is really gon' getcha. :D

The stark family has been a pivotal role so far in the series... rape, i agree, i sorta saw it coming. It was 2am when i watched it and it felt like that turn of events happened very quickly. now what... im going to refrain from reading the books until after the season. i have all the books ut prefer the theatrical aspect of the television series. Watch first, read after. watch all again before going into the next season.
im still in shock, i fucking hate the lanistars.
lets go Kalisie!

Read all the current books so wasn't suprised from this episode but then again, i wasn't suprised in the book either as it was predictible after all the clues you got early in book.

the finale was good. it made a pretty clean slate for next season. sin "read" the books and says there are some pretty good things to look forward to. the wait sucks. now just a few more months for homeland.

This. Can't even compare. However, I totally disagree - they really messed up last episode (season 3 finale). IMO, 2nd worst episode of the season and one of the worst in the series. They had some great scenes (especially with Charles Dance) but overall it was super weak finale.

I shall not post spoilers here for Maynard's sake. We need a GoT 'spoiler' thread so we can discuss in detail. I'd love to refute why you thought the finale was 'super weak.' It was nowhere close to being the 'worst' of anything though. You're forgetting some of the first and second season episodes when you categorize it that way for sure.

The whole "time to push in some shit on the Wall" was weak. Could have been done better. Although I could watch Davos trying to read all day. Arya stabbing some niggers was good too, the actual scene is better and I hope they include it later.

I just started reading the books earlier last week. Already on book 3. Have not slept.
For anyone else, watch Season 1 and then start reading the books. It really helped me.

It had some great scenes, but overall, especially as finale compared to the previous ones, it felt lackluster (for me personally, at least). I would say that season 2 was most definitely much weaker than 3 and it has 2 overall worst episodes for me personally, but I'd probably rank this one as 4th weakest in the series. The number of scenes seemed artificial and cheesy and it gave me completely different emotions than it was supposed to. It's not really even due to a few specific characters missing (although they did play a part for my disappointment), it's more so due to in general a lot of scenes feeling really reek (Reek, it rhymes with weak).
Re: Davos/Stannis
I absolutely love show Davos (just like the book Davos) and it's wonderful to see him on screen every time. I do, however, have some complaints about Stannis portrayal in the show as I think that his character and storyline are extremely weak and unfair compared to the books (same as with Jon Snow). Now please, don't get me wrong - I'm not one of the fickle book readers who complain about every change and I think it's totally unfair what some say at westeros.org and I still absolutely love the show and will keep on watching. However, this finale, in my opinion, was very poor.

you're not alone man. I think for non-readers that finale was just fine but for us that have read it was meh. I thought they missed a real good opportunity to get people excited and hooked with the way they ended that episode.
