which do you use on your mouse?
http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/5669/mousegriphu7.jpg
just wondering, i'm looking for a new mouse to suit my claw grip style. my current g400 is great...but for extended usage gets uncomfortable because it's made with the palm grip in mind. i actually think i have tendonitis in my right wrist area...may or may not be because of the mouse but either way, a more comfortable one can't hurt.
so which grip do you use?

Mine is kind of a combination. I also hold the mouse really low, so most of my palm is actually on the desk, most likely because i have big, Micheal Strahan fingers.
I hate pointy mice too, gotta be rounded and heavy.

the one i'm looking at now is this one:

or possibly its cheaper little brother, shaped the same way. i'm kinda torn.

Why isn't there an option for both?

it's similar in shape and size to a logitech g9, which is the most comfy mouse i've ever held. actually a lot of the reviews say it looks like it'd feel like shit, but is actually really comfy for a claw grip.
and chikun, because i don't have room in my life for fence-dwellers. PICK A SIDE, ASSHOLE.

Well I'm going with claw then since I can't pop gourds with an ak the palm way.

full claw is tireing and hurts, palm is slow as fuck. I rest my palm on the mouse and claw my fingers.

Palm for comfort, claw for gaming. Best of all worlds.
And I use a Logitech G500, because there is no other mouse design more comfortable.
Disclaimer: I have not used all mice in the world.

I actually use both. I'm using the Logitech MX518 (with the asus cover on the back). and its honestly the best mouse i've ever tried and I've tried a lot of "amazing gaming mice" even though it looks big and clumpy, it fills my hand perfectly.
I was in the same boat you are a couple years ago. I loved my Logitech G9's... I had 3 of them over the course of years, but the clicks were just too soft. Finally went with the Zowie AM, which was a shocker for me because of how big it is length wise. It took me a bit but I finally got used to it to the point that the mouse doesn't pinch my palm skin anymore (that was annoying).

i'll let you know how i like this one when it comes, comfort wise. all the reviews i read say it was a pleasant surprise for the price. the one i'm getting is the slightly more expensive one for $40 (up to 3500 dpi, optical), there's a cheaper one for $30 (2000 dpi). i prefer optical because they seem to generally work better on cloth surfaces which is all i use. i don't mind that they're cheaper either.
Oh yes definitely optical is the way to go for me as well, that's why I went with the Zowie. I tried out one of Cooler Masters earlier peripherals, and had a bad time though. Cheaply made, equivalent of a Razer product, and mouse1/2 were soft as well. Hopefully they stepped their game up though.

AM I THE ONLY ONE AROUND HERE WHO GAMES WITH A PALM GRIP?...
that would explain my crappy accuracy... and overall "freaking out of control" mouse sprays...
or does it?
G700 is probably the best mouse i've ever had.
closely followed by G500.
The only thing that bugged me with G500 is that its wire was TOO thin... and it guaranteed fucking up a few months later... Then again, a very very thick cord on G700 is was made me get my own micro usb cord for my g700... a tad thinner.
There's always gonna be complaints man, but I personally keep my wireless usb receiver always blugged in my laptop, and i play with usb cable on. i just love the dual wielding of it... i can just disconnect the mouse at any time, fall back and work on my bed... and then reconnect and go back to playing.

I use a Mionix NAOS 8200 and it is MASSIVE. Personally I use palm grip for general usage and claw grip for aiming and fast clicking.

G500 here, mix of palm and claw. MX518 still the best mouse I ever owned based on pure comfort, but I needed better DPI so went G500

Using Palm grip with my Logitech Optical Gaming Mouse G400.
Have my mousepad near the edge of the desk while resting my wrist between the end of mouse pad and desk edge and the rest of my arm on the armrest. Comfortable and easy to aim with.

Depends on how active i am in the game. Normally i use palm grip but switch to claw when i try a bit more... i feel bad since all i use is a generic Logitech mouse ;-;

I know this is not the question at hand... it's not about palm or claw... but i don't wanna make a new thread for it...
What are you guys' mouse settings?
Personally I'm running a 5000 dpi on g700's setpoint software, it's also set at speed tick #10 within it as well.
Windows has "enhance precision" disabled using a batch executable file that i have running at startup,
as for in game, my mouse sensitivity SHOULD be 1.0 with raw input.... but for some reason, i feel that steering a full circle is very heavy with that... so i ended up pushing it till about 1.25 in game sensitivity... especially when playing vagas...
When im playing humans, i toggle off my G700 to lower the dpi to roughly 4000dpi, same in game shit...
Do you guys have any recommendations as to how to optimize it to have a mouse that reacts FAST and circles fast (especially for vaga knifers like me), but at the same time not jump over people's heads when im trying to align a shot further than mid range?...
thanks in advance.

i just run 1800 dpi constantly, sensitivity in-game somewhere around 5.5. i change that up every now and then, it ranges between 5 and 6.
rather than altering my dpi in-game for any reason at all, i just go for consistency. i only change it in bf3 and i haven't played that in a while.
to have fast reactions + precision, you just need to have lower sensitivity and claw grip the mouse. at least that's what it seems to me. claw grip gives your wrist a wider range of motion, and increased sensitivity will always decrease precision.

It also sucks that I have a left-handed desk so the amount of room I have for my mouse is small.

update: rather dissatisfied with that mouse. comfort was great but there wasn't a good firmware for me. either i had an excruciatingly high LOD and great tracking or a low LOD and virtually no tracking. already rma'd it...and shopping once more -.-

Honestly, mine's somewhere in-between. I'd say it's mostly grip, but depending on the game it can get quite claw-esque.
