It's sad it isn't like the old days anymore, I miss the classic days where Desert fortress, Lila panic, Scrap yard, ze_thelostworlds_final was one of the most played, even that floating ship map.

Anyways, I lost faith a bit seeing different people who only want to play senseless maps, and as well as arguments and these temporary rules that really bend the gameplay experience way too differently.
I can't enjoy it anymore.

most of it comes from the fact that the current crop of ZM players is SO much more annoyung and immature compared to those we had in the past. ffs, I was never even around for the "golden age" of IbisZM, but when I first found this place it was better than the current state.

zm is fundamentally flawed. it is filed with flawed people, and the server itself manages to make WCS's history of instability look amazing (yes, i'm even including the long break when the WCS server died after orange box). and, i'll point out, that i have yet to see a zm player come to the forums who actually presented themselves in some manner that doesn't draw the derision and insults of the crowd. oddly enough, whenever people from other servers come on that are not complete fucktards, they are welcomed (except by asscunts like nem, but he doesn't count).

i think that the real problem is that we have, for a very LONG time, not had a zm player join the forums who made a positive impression.

oh, and the stupid shit that comes out of ZM these days doesn't help. see the content of this fucking thread. a video of a round, played on a fucking terrible map (which the populace of the server seems to have fooled themselves into thinking was good), wherein one retard with a voice changer is saying stupid ass shit to a bunch of tards that seem to believe said retard is using his real voice REALLY doesn't do much to improve our views on ZM. it was neither witty, nor funny...it was just sad. The problem are the dumb cunts that are in the server have been allowed to fester like a cancer. Having it spread into the forums allows for it to get noticed so some chemo can be applied but it hasn't been applied to the source.

if i go into zm, 95% of the time...it's because i see a name in there that i know is a dumbass...admin or player. i go in that server to babysit. it is a chore. i go in to "lay down the law" so to speak but i can't and won't do it 24/7...i also can't ban all the idiots, it'd be like taking all the splinters out of a plank of wood if you catch my drift. there is a contingency of decent players in there. there are some people in there who know what they're doing, who try to play the game right, who actually contribute to the server and the community. however they are and have been fast diminishing as the less mature troll players joined in...and then little kids joined and thought the trolls were sooooo funny and didn't have any positive role models in the server because the trolls and morons pushed them out, so now that new generation is nothing but retards and trolls. if you get some of the good ol boys in there (i'll admit i'm not one of them, but i've played some with anex, zero, rezel, steamer, etc.), that server can function and it can be fun as hell. but the way it is now...it's a lot of mic spamming and morons who get you killed. succeeding on a map boils down to a few things:

1. the map/your knowledge of its secrets (if you know how to get into the secret rooms...gg you win every damn time)
2. idiots. do they break your cade? do they get tagged by standing in the wrong place? do they get tagged in hordes because they can't form a logical thought, therefore leaving you too few people to defend on a ze map?

I won't pretend that situations like that in your first point doesn't happen often in the server. We often have trolls like Jingle, .,. , and interestingly most of the top 50 players on the server. As for teamwork, that aspect is essentially a roller coaster in there. We have a steady flow of people - new and old - coming in and out of the server at regular times. I gotta admit, it does get difficult to coordinate a whole team of 20+ to hold back the zombies at a certain position because most of 'em would indeed run off into the distance and try their luck with their backs against the door (which isn't gonna open for another 90 seconds). Can we really blame them though? What if they are new to zombie mod and are still learning the basic tricks to it? I can assume that because I went through that phase back in '09.

Being on the other side of the Earth, I usually play on the server when the population is at an all-time-low. The number of people playing doesn't go over 20. What I do notice is that the number of people who troll others on the map is very prominent when there is the lack of admin moderation. When the cops like Omega, Hardc0re, Norwegian, Gravity etc. enter the server, the trolls all scramble like rats from cats. It got me wondering, would the constant moderation of the server actually bring it back to its glory?

But no, that's not the point is it? It's about the experience, the teamwork, the bromanceship and the swift path to victory. I've only been playing for a couple of weeks so far, but I don't seem to be pissed off about anyone in particular. Yeah, there are trolls, there are cadebreakers and we lose half of the time on zombie escape maps but does it really warrant a bad label to the server? No, I disagree. Why get frustrated over a game? Just have fun! That's what I do, I enjoy my time on the servers with the good guys there. If there's a failnade, a failcade, or a troll, fine just call an admin over or just laugh it off.

And why are you calling me a troll? There were fewer than 10 people playing on the server during that demo. It was practically dead at the time. Oh and why did we decide to teach him the "sick shit"? That kid has been trolling on the server since Herpes was discovered. People get annoyed all the time asking the kid to shut up but no. I agree that I wouldn't call what we did "justice" in the first place, but something as minor as this? Geez, what's the big deal? Did someone cut open Pandora's box?

Do you know what your problem is? You think that winning the map is what matters. That's the mindset of the remaining veterans on the server anyway. Well I can't blame ya then. When I'm on, the situation doesn't seem so bad. So it must be the time difference or somethin. And I didn't say that you were always wrong. I stated in the first paragraph that I agreed with you on the fact that cadebreakers and trolls are a moderate problem on the server. Either way, the constant mocking towards the ZM server is still a bit uncalled for. Maybe all the good players just kinda let go of CS:S, which may explain why all the "noobs" have swarmed in to fill the void, I don't know.
