View Full Version : Universal Teleport Failed Sound

I would like to suggest making fuzz the official sound that plays if your teleport fails for any reason other than it being blocked. This way users have an audio feedback for when they are not teleporting due to a bad teleport location.
What do you all think?

works for me. would it still attempt to teleport the player, or just play this sound and leave the player completely stationary? i know humans right now like to constantly spam teleport when they're in roots or medusa's gaze because it makes them flicker between their rooted location and teleport location, it'd be awesome if it didn't move them at all.
If it does what Brett hopes it does, then that should be applied to the Eye Ra teleport as well, since even if the summon is failed, it flickers the person in front of them long enough where they can still take damage or be killed.

Is it planned to be user only, or something everyone can hear within proximity? Sounds like it's planned to be the former, but would like to confirm.
Yea this is for either when a valid location can not be found or for when you get teleported and then are teleported back b/c you got stuck. Over time I hope to make more improvements to the teleportation code to reduce players ability to get stuck but regardless a sound is ideal to provide better error feedback to players b/c no matter how good I get it programed it will never work 100% of the time. :wtg:
Sounds good [failed?] to me! The better the feedback, the better the experience.

that's one of the reasons i prefer the original version of teleport. it wasn't a teleport but a..."jump"? idk how do describe it. it was closer to vagabond/lion's teleport.
