he'll come in, give us his money, and then get found and banned. we dont give refunds to prickfucks. its like if a magician or a stand up comedian comes to your house, and he's kinda shitty, but its entertaining because he's trying so hard (but failing), and he ends up paying you for the privolege of waving his dick around and throwing a bitch fit.

I think corndog is considering more of the fact it disrupts the game play/flow; and if these mass bans keeps happening, we can possibly lose regulars coming into IBIS servers. He did infact target many of our regulars, and good amount of admins playing at the time.

oh indeed. but this shit has happened multiple times in the past. Walter, Katana, i want to say DogBorther? hell, in the past, it was even easier to do. ma_ban * 0 "fuck everything" would ban the whole server permanently. stuff like this will always happen. bitches will always be jealous. they will always wave their dicks around. we will always rip them off. they will always be gone.

He banned me like 3 times yesterday but you all were quick to unban me, I think it was like 20 mins or something. I was just happy it didnt take long.
Ive been playing for about 10 years now but your always gonna have those 1 or 2 ppl that abuse power.
I know its impossible but I wish you guys could have AM admins too. Most admins are on during day and hardly any late at night.

Meh, it happens once, maybe twice, a year. Everyone's usually pretty on top of getting everyone unbanned as well and it usually only lasts for a few hours. Shit happens and cunts get dealt with. Send 'em back to Africa and move on.

the thing is buddy, even if there were admins, they couldnt have done much anyway.
Admins cannot ban other admins, unless they are ULAs and clan (no longer "admins" per se), or unless the abusing admin was on probation, which wouldnt have allowed this whole fiasco to begin with.

In fact, you had TWO upper level admins (ulas) that showed up, and banned the abusing admin. And those are your admin's finest (well... brett is, phil is still a whore) :P
The problem was that he started banning via a web panel, even while he was banned himself... and ONLY the server owner, ZERO, has the right to revoke someone's admin. :)

besides,,, we dont actually "pay admins" to work "Specific" shifts...
admins donate to the server and receive powers and a rulebook to follow, and they can use their admin responsibly at any time, IF they chose to use their admin.
we cant really "hire" AM people , or enforce admins to be on AM times...lol...

if AM regulars feel that there's a lack in man power late at night, join the admins, help donate to the server, AND help clean up the servers late at night when you're the only one that can do something about it... That's how i became an admin originally, i've always been a late-night / early morning player.... :)

do what i did to wcs. kicked everyone with the !kick @all command. he then moved on to another server and everyone just reconnected. or just call Phil. He's cheap the first hour

pm'd the guy who made that thread informing him of what happened. They have been notified of the abuser and been told to refresh the list IF they pulled our bans in the last few days.

He hasn't responded yet, but i will keep you guys updated.


highly unlikely that they pulled the bans within those 2 hours of scripted bans while we were unbanning... but you know... I DID get banned from there bcos of rape's 5 minute speedhacks ban -.- .... so yeah, you guys are probably luckier than me...

Well they only pull permas from what I know, so we should be fine, but no one answered the question I had, can admins pull a certain stunt to ban him if he comes in, even though its officially against the rules?

only ula or clan can ban another admin and i think they HAVE to talked to zero and get his concent first but if your just a reg admin you need to get an ula immediately if something like this evers happens again.

- maybe zero and ula can have a meeting or something and talk about banning an admin without concent from zero or having a big discussion first, of an admin already on probation for abuse and /or ban an admin, that when ip is traced and its beachbum / PPTechVet etc, can be banned immediately and not ruin anymore player's game experience and ban record.... just a thought

no.

zero is the only one (maybe jig can too) who can remove/add admins. ppt was banned almost immediately but then he began using the sourcebans website instead, which admins/ula/clan do not and can not have the access to remove.

Honestly, if I was still an admin, I would find it much quicker to take care of a mass banning admin myself, and then report it to ula/clan. I know you are supposed to talk to them, but the faster you react to this sort of situation the better. I know were are not supposed to. This really only applies to the few of us that know some tricks. I dont have every clan in my friends list, and ULAs are not on 24/7 If I can take care of it in <1min instead of waiting 5, then all the better.

regulars admins have immunity from eachother. It's simply how it's coded.
besides, if you are vouching for admins not having immunity from eachother, so that u can ban them, then you are basically vouching that ppt or beachbum just buys an admin account, join the server, BAN THE ADMINS directly from the game, and proceed to chill there while u aint got a chance to know what happened...

that being said, the problem is that in web panel, any admin can perform a ban on anyone... even a superior... and yes, even if the banning admin himself is banned (exactly what happened with ppt after he got banned by phil)
and that's bcos sourcebans won't allow zero to make certain modifications.

also, for the record, other than the fact that clan can do wtvr the fuck it wants in handling the situation (IF they have coded access), the ULAs too are given instructions by clan to immediately take care of this kind of situation until clan is involved (such as phil banning ppt for a month before clan/zero showed up).
We already have that permission beforehand, what no-one (except zero) has access to, is removing someone's admin...

IDK we only have 5 ULAs and only a small group of clan who are constantly active. STARS has a point. Maybe having a select group of veteran admins who have earned it be able to do something. Same credentials for ULA. Not being able to perma ban but be above immunity. Also let them unban from sb, since that can be exploited. ONLY in extreme situation though like ULA. Clan still does the managing of admins. This doesn't happen a lot, so it may be not worth it. Better safe then sorry.

Maybe you can make a probation period as well. New admins can be banned by other admins for the first month or so.

saying we only have five ULA implies we need more... which isn't true... and we have 4. Our ban requests are handled in a timely and correct manor, so we're more than fine on that front. we also have a select group of veteran admins already.... they are called ULA....

The issue was handled quickly, and given this is like the third or fourth time I've seen this happen in my like almost 5 years tells me it's not something we really need 2 act like is a major problem.

I like the probation period idea, regardless if it's put a ban cap over a set amount of time for new admins, or just restrict all admins 2 not be able 2 do more than twenty bans in a 24 hour period.

Even if we do nothing though and continue on as we have, it doesn't really matter as this is not a issue that constantly happens... and when it does, it's always handled right quick......

Clan needs more power and regulation on source bans. Preferably to act upon other admins in source bans. I would have corrected this situation in minutes rather than trying to ban on forums before zero got to it. Phil texted me and this could have been resolved in seconds before it came to this cluster fuck. Answers could have been given to zero if there were a problem. My 2 cents. We have made it here for a reason, and abuse on clans power is oust if the problem was major (which it was not, been here done with this). Just my opinion. I love ibis, but lack of power is lacking in some situations. A simple fix turned to retardation in this incodent.
