View Full Version : ZE Auto Balance
Ever get tired of when it seams like humans can never win and just can not defend from the zombies in order to finish the map? I know I do and therefore I have devised an automated solution! Introducing auto ZE balance for use only on ZE_ maps! What is does is quite simple, every time the zombies win their knockback increases slightly and every time humans win the knockback decreases by a greater amount to make things fair.
So what do you all think?

Humans lost 9 times in a row in ze_christmas... I shot a classic zombie from the first hold off point back to spawn with a deagle. It was fucking awesome.
Maybe you could limit it so it only increases knockback to a certain amount? It's pretty unfair if humans are guaranteed a win because they fuck up 10 times in a row.

Agree with somewhat, there has to be a limit. Otherwise, I'm not in favor.

Talked about this forever ago. Glad to see in. Yes, needs limit. What made ibis the go to server for zm was its great balance and awesome people. Seeing new ideas (r&d) could potentially draw in quite a few people.
For now there is no limit b/c I think if you manage to fail like 30 times then fuck it.
Also saw humans lose 13 times in christmass with it turned on. Note that it is the same amount it raises by each time so the % benefit is less each round.

I changed my mind. I love it.
Is there a way to disable this on really easy maps like Voodoo or Deathstar Escape? It's fucking frustrating to lose to a noob team on a super-easy map because they failed so many times that knockback is insanely high and a few morons can hold down basically any spot. If a human team is so terrible that they need the server to completely handicap the zombies just to complete an already easy map then they don't deserve to win at all in my opinion.

I disagree on the limit, if humans lose 10 times then it sucks to be zombie the 11 time, but don't forget you framed yourself in the position to fail 10 times before, and if u spawn zombie as 11 time well bad luck.

making the mod more dynamic like this is an amazing idea, when each round starts to get repetetive then it stagnates and becomes much less fun
keeping things changing ads a feeling of "i'll get 'em next time!" that keeps people around and more enthusiastic

I got to say this is one of the greatest idea since long, because were able to finish levels now. where people would have given up hope on some maps now people keep going because it gets easier. Which means maps get played more and less rtv to old maps.
Can I make a suggestion? Get rid of the auto balance entirely and just nerf or restrict the deformed class on ZE maps. I'd rather hold against 5 zombies of any other class (even predator) than one deformed. It takes so much ammo to slow them down that it makes it practically impossible to defend against the rest of the zombie team in most situations. And if you have 2 or more deformeds, forget about it. They're gonna wreck your shit.

Today we managed to finish fap escape lv 2 and abondend project level 1 thanks to this system, dont ask how much we failed. but it works.
