New guy on WCS

Hey guys. My name is Bryan, I'm 24 and currently a student at The Ohio State University. I have been playing CS:S for a few years now and I'm new to the community and really enjoy playing on the WCS server. I hope to meet some regular's and learn about any changes to be made to the races as well as suggest some of my own. Excited to meet everyone!

By the way, the part that helped me out most was unlocking and playing the vaga races, you learn to think like they will, helping you predict where that silly invisible man might be.

Teleport around the map while 100% invisible and knifing people. Seems pretty fair. I love the server but these two races are extremely superior to all other races. This subject was one of the main reasons why I decided to join the forums and I may be starting a thread about this in the future. I look forward to discussing these races and their unnoticed repercussions on the WCS server population.

This just reassures my point. If you need to add a whole written paper about a race to the FAQ then the race is probably unfair.

funnel them into tight spaces, use a lace when you can. someone like wolf is total rape not because the class is op, but because it's all he plays. there are many sucky vagas that are easy to take out.

I am one of those sucky vagas. Seriously, everyone says bond and lion are unbalanced, they will not get changed so the only thing to do is get good at countering them.

welcome to ibis, never judge a race as OP based on the same handful of players who master it.

Take me and Jack, i get Wrecked, but i do decent with bond. Others go vice versa. Some people have trouble killing the invisible flying vaga monster, and yet I loveeee hunting down Vegas in game as a minimum game, and i usually shoot faster than most vagas ibis, so they end up getting good shot fast or stuck. Whereas I fucking cannot shoot a Santa or stryder for the life of me.

It's really how you play and how you counter, some races are high skill cap with high reward, when u get such races u start with the prejudice that you will rampage with the race, when in fact you will spend more time dead (sometimes by your own suicides) than alive... And will realize how hard it is to play such races against a team with athena night elves, shadow Hunters, and laces where u are completely shut down. The race is only as good as the enemy team ALLOW it to be.

what cyber said, i'm absolutely terrible at most everything, i'm okay with void and vagalion, terrible with bond, and with flying races like santa or strider my flying is absolutely disgustingly bad

my flame pred is alright, my rap is horrible

that being said i have seen people do horrible as lion and flame pred, and i have seen people absolutely WRECK with bond (gt-r,cyber) rapscallion (wolf,cyber), strider(deez,cyber), and santa (forget who it was)

there are races that are bar none underpowered (raiden comes to mind) and i wouldn't even pretend to say all races are balanced, but don't blow out of proportion one race in particular if you see someone do really well as it, because for each race someone does well as, someone else does poorly as (usually me in the latter) :P

This has been beaten to death, but I'll say this one more time - while both of these races are strong, neither of them are OP (lion less than bond). They're both counterable and while they can cause a lot of problems and are probably the best "PUB STOMPING" race, but I don't really agree that they are overpowered bar maybe 2 maps (vagabond in port is just.. Mean). It's easier and easier to counter as you get experience and then when you finally reach that moment and you play a vaga for the first time - you suck. "What is this sorcery, why is it so weak when I play it?"

Honestly, there's very few truly good vagas that I have troubles dealing with and the ones that I do have problems with... It's not because of the race, but rather the people that play it. People like Spasm would be and ARE OP regardless of the race they play. The problem with server is more so the community and the few specific people along with their attitudes that they bring. Server used to have a much bigger population than now, but there are multiple important factors (CS:GO / Frequent lags and crashes at one point / few people whoring and only playing races like human, molecule, etc.).

As far as dealing with with vagas, the guide posted above and the one that I've made (but never finished) should have plenty of good information on how to survive in WCS and thrive, because if someone as bad as me can carry their team, then so can you.

People will always find something to complaint - this proves nothing. Vagas are mostly unfair to new players and they are amazing at raping noobs, but they tend to not work as well as humans and molecules against people who know how to counter them and deal with them.
