How did he/she abuse: I was kicked from the server because i decided to shoot and not knife like the admin and a few others wanted.

I read all the rules here in the forums and i don't see where it says that an admin can enforce everyone in the server to knife and not shoot.

It's a GG server not knife only.

My apologies if i'm wrong on this and specially 2 Jesus but i just don't see why i should get kick for this, i believe this is admin abuse.
If you watch the first 5 minutes of the DEMO i have attached, you would understand what i'm talking about and just not a very cool admin behavior, about 4 other players got kicked after me for the same reason, may as well empty the server for some stupid knife only.

I did not see a vote either in order to have such rule placed on the map.

Like i said if i'm completely wrong on this i apologize, i have been playing on this server for a while now and never gotten in trouble or broken any rules so i'm confuse.

I decided not to go back to the server after this incident because i wanted to SHOOT and not knife so i had to go to another server which is not even half as good so it sucked.

when the server all agrees on knife only, which it is most of the time, then one little fucker comes in and shoots, you can bet your sweet little ass you'll be kicked. Don't like it then leave, nobody would care. Not even the slightest bit

Why do you have to be a dickhead and shoot when everyone votes to knife only? It's generally accepted in the GG server, by the regulars, that the vote is the vote. Most times it's nearly unanimous to knife with a rare few morons who like to ruin it for everyone.

the admins aren't making it knife only on their own. They're putting up votes to do so.

It may not be directly written in the rules for GG but it's a generally accepted practice that the vote in GG, specifically in wootday, for knife only means knife only. Get kicked if you don't comply.

I don't think it was abuse and I belive the community will be backing up Jesus, here. In fact, I'm going to work to get this rule specifically into the GG rules.

as i recall, calling a vote doesn't make a rule. we've seen admins put up low gravity votes for instance. gg as i knew it was always enforced such that if the whole server agrees to knife, that's fine. they can all knife. but they are by no means obliged to knife only. that's how i'd always ruled it anyway, can't find a specific post but from one by zero which had a similar issue: I would say that when doing things like this make sure that everyone is on board and be sure to type everything in admin chat so that what you said is always a fact. Key phrase: make sure that EVERYONE is on board. if one person isn't on board, it's not within your power to restrict weapon usage...and someone shooting is evidence that they're not on board.

As i've been explained to several times (By maynard i belive it was).

Even if an admin or some players decide on something, it doesn't make it a rule and if you use admin commands to enforce your own made rules(Such as the knife only thing), it's abuse.

The rules are clearly written and shooting when some players and admins want to knife isn't breaking any rules.

If Jesus did kick someone for shooting when other peopled knifed then he has clearly abused his admin.

I support tho changing the rules for wootday to have a knife only vote and that you can enforce it.

If 18 people are bullshit because one asshole is shooting when the rest of us want a knife map, then isn't an Admin supposed to keep the peace? Admin abuse should be classified as doing something unjustly for the admin's amusement or personal gain, not to keep the server full and running smoothly. IF you don't want to knife only, fucking leave, don't piss everyone off.

Yeah sorry folks. Xer and Brett are correct. Zero did implicitly state before that votes in the game mean jack and shit. If you want to do so, and can, then sure, but it doesn't mean that everyone has to follow it. The reason being is that after a vote goes through, whats to say someone doesn't connect right afterword and shoot everybody? They would be kicked and then banned if they kept it up, which isn't what we want, for probably not knowing there was something going on in the first place

Honestly In my opinion I wasn't wrong in my actions. In the viewpoint of following the rules Yes I was out of line. But the simple fact that everyone minus like 5 people were knifing was a bit douchey for people who were knifing. I think Wake(aka Kimbo) is right on admin keeping peace. But if I am found guilty, I will apologize and take care to not do something like that again. It's in my hopes though that we can get a rule implemented for that, as I am not the only one who feels that way about the knife only on Wootday.

Yeah but this wasn't about keeping peace.

It was about a group of people wanting to only knife while another group didn't and a admin using his admin to favor the first group because it was what he also wanted resulting in using an admin command against someone not breaking the rules. Abuse doesn't get clearer than that.

As brett and many clan members have said in so many threads, IBIS isn't an democracy, it's a dictatorship and ZERO makes the rules which in no way say that you only have to knife because the other people want to.

As someone who likes to knife aswell, i support 100% a change to having a knife only vote available in wootday which removes the usage of guns but it's not available during this moment so the rules are clear.

as others have said. it only happens if the entire server is ok with it. if someone doesn't want to do it, they cant be penalized as our servers aren't listed as "knife only" so it's not fair to punish our traffic if they don't want to follow made up rules and play our servers as they are intended.

this is zero's logic and wording on the issue in the past.

what he did was abuse techincally, but clearly it's more just a lack of understanding on how we handle these situations. admin will be educated regarding the situation.
