Hey guys,
We're looking to delete a lot of maps to clean up the server. I went through both ZM and ZE maps. This is what we intend to delete. This would essential clean up the server by cutting the maps in half. Are there any maps that I missed or maps that should be on the Stay or Remove list?

zm_Fidlers-Green_b2, m_bridge_run_v1, zm_onadega_v3nn, zm_gorodok_v1, zm_tower_of_resistance_v4 and zm_tzuwaza_b5 are all pretty fun ZM maps.
For ZE maps, ze_zombierig_v4_3, ze_biohazard2_sewer_v4c, ze_destruction_of_exorath_v8 and ze_prototype_v2 (I think there's a newer version of this one) are fun but hard maps and might be good for weekend ZE events with the other tryhard maps. ze_licciana_escape_v2 and ze_paradise_v1 are classics and easy enough to just leave in the regular rotation. There's a newer version of ze_trainescape_b3 (http://css.gamebanana.com/maps/97189) that makes it a lot more enjoyable. I'd like to see it updated to that version rather than removed completely.
I'd like to see hobbit escape stay. We've never tried that map and it seems like a good enough map to at least try out. There are levels and items and it does take team work. So that could be a challenging map if anyone is up for it.

ze_biohazard2_sewer_v4c imo is a not a try hard map and isn't really event material.
I added back Exorath and prototype because that is good event material. I forgot the only reason why Exorath killed the server was because of missing map info.
What do you guys think of keeping Desperados? I personally despise that map and always spec when we used to go to it. I put it on there because it's not really played anymore on map rotation.
Regarding Hobbit Escape, it's going to be replaced with an updated version.
Do we have maps that are on the STAY list that need to be REMOVED? Like some ZE maps that are on the FUN list that need to be just flat out removed?
Also, as we go along, if we find maps that ended up staying are actually terrible, we'll remove those asap.

zm_bumfight_v2, zm_vampire_medical_v3, ze_boatescape101 and ze_Escape_Stroggos_b4 are all terrible.
ze_eruption_escape_fix and ze_Flying_World_v1_2 are too hard to be in the regular rotation but might work as weekend event material.
ze_Paranoid_Rezurrection_v11_9, ze_shroomforest_v3 and especially ze_crashbandicoot_v1fix should probably be weekend maps. I'd get rid of ze_ApertureScience_final entirely and move ze_Portal_Story_v3_1 to the regular rotation because people tend to confuse the Portal maps and Portal Story is the much better one. It's also a relatively simple one-stage map that wouldn't need to be part of a weekend event to beat. I think having two Minecraft maps in the regular rotation is also overkill.

i would say keep minecraft adventure, since it has levels and would be a fun and challenging weekend map.
Off-topic:
If this all goes according to plan, then I have great hopes for the future of IBIS.
Rooftop and Sorrento are maps that are on rotation a lot and players enjoy playing on it. It will help keep the server full during the week. They are fun ZE that the server enjoys playing.
We can get rid of the older minecraft with one level.
If you're going to keep the newer Minecraft, can you do something about the custom human skins it forces on everyone? They're giant bulky Minecraft-style blocks that make it hard for humans to see around because they're so damn big.

I was also going to suggest moving Mount Doom back to fun but it appears as the map has been revised, win percentage has greatly decreased. LOTR maps draw a crowd but with the win % of v4_2 at less than 6%, weekend sounds good to me.
There also appear to be a number of maps missing from the stay and remove lists. Maps like zm_siberia_v2 and zm_zelda_skyloft_5_5 come to mind. Not sure how these missed the lists...

I have never witness the majority of the server like ze_parking. I can't stand it personally. I will go through and do more this weekend. Maybe a server vote event through maps...
I second keeping zm_urban_downtown_final (the map with the hidden Daft Punk musical minigame you can play). I love ze_parking but it's more of a tryhard map with multiple difficulty levels and you need a good team with someone leading on the mic to get anywhere in it. Maybe consider moving that to weekend.

ze_parking, i personally like. it's a what, 3-4 level challenge? It's awesome if people know what they are doing. But stupid predator's need to go.
Has the crashing issue in ze_parking been fixed? Lot's of client-side crashes going on here.
IMO, if the crashing stops, keep ze_parking. It brings in people, and even after crashes people continue to come back in.
Speaking of crashing, remove the nade animations for ZE as well. I know for a fact that is an issue for some people to crash. And it causes a big fps lag.

IMO I do like the FreeFall and DontFall maps. FreeFall (I believe) is the one with the 5 different teleports, Love it. Now it does suck if you don't have atleast 30 ppl on. :reddot:

Still can be fun without the garbage can spot. Yeah FreeFall is fun for both humans and zombies. I tried to include some of those maps in my list. As it's not fun if you have only maps that are in favor of humans.

scrapyard, bumfight, and 420_breeze are all quite good...
and labor gigantic is okay. not sure why they're in the "remove" list while euronews is in the "keep" list...

That's map related. For us to remove that, we would have to decompile the map and remove the textures. That's even if we are allowed to do it via the map maker.

and labor gigantic is okay. not sure why they're in the "remove" list while euronews is in the "keep" list...
Scrapyard, bumfight and 420_breeze are bad maps. We don't play them and when we do they get rtv'd. Labor gigantic also gets rtv'd because it's a vent map. I had euronews stay because it was a map made for us specifically for us.
Would it be possible to organize the maps in the nomination list alphabetically? Right now, they're sorted randomly and it's hard to find the exact map you're looking for by name unless you've memorized exactly what page it's on.

I 100% agree with this it would make nominations a hell of a lot easier
also if it is possible certain large escape maps should have a minimum player limit
certain large escape maps should have a minimum player limitThat's server sided. Whatever player cap the server has is how many players will play in the server. You would have to raise/reduce the player cap.

Looks like I chose the wrong one then. I was wanting to keep the older one, it's fun but not to challenging. Good fun once in awhile and a classic.

I was just noticing that if we keep telling Anex which maps we want to keep, he'll only be able to take off like 5 maps lol
I say take off whatever and we will continue to play regardless.

they're incredibly classic maps though. maybe its just the server's current population that can't handle them :(
They are classic but the play time they accumulated was years ago. They get played on accident. It's not that they can't handle them. 420 breeze was all about going into two rooms and sitting for the rest of the round. Bumfight was all about the babies (which was always short lived if we could get it) and the rafters. We got too good for labor gigantic to the point where it's just a zombie slaughter in the vents.

While true if enough humans team up other spots are viable. I've seen them hold the top of the building with the gas tank. As well as the red create with all the vendies.

Time has changed, sticking to the old will get us nowhere. most maps were made without having zombie classes into it.

Where are we trying to go here? Thought the point of this was to get rid of the boring absolutely horrid maps. Bumfight has it's challenges but it's still fun once in awhile. I remember when it was as popular as sorrento and everyone wanted to go there. Anyway I'm not the one you have to convince, I'm just sharing my opinion on the forums so it doesn't get missed.

i see where youre coming from. i remember that too, but every one of the old maps was ruined with the steam update so, were just trying to clear up maps here, true bumfight and scrapyard is fun once in a while , but were trying to get rid of once in a while and keep map that are constant and attract many players:wtg:

I can see that, I just hope it doesn't turn out to be the same maps cycled over and over. Main reason we rarely play some maps is because of this very thing.

Having empty servers because we play old maps is a good thing? other servers implant new maps all the time and remove older ones, and sometimes re add old ones for some time. That you like it doesn't mean the whole server does, if it means people walk away you got to adapt and sentimental isn't something you want to have lingering around.

Just a thought, Since all of the newer maps are on the last 3 pages of the nomination list. Anyways we could just reverse the list so ppl will see all the newer maps first? :smirk:

These maps are all great maps and should stay, they simply require a bit of skill witch alot of players lack they only want an easy map were they can farm zombies each round.

Uh, not really.
I do think the use of chutes on Sorrento is a little over used and defeats the point of the objective.
it can be fun from time to time but I personally prefer it with chutes turned off.
Rooftop is kind of a classic its an easy escape to win and loose even when the server is half way dead.

I also would like zm_roy_zombieranch_night_b4 to stay. It's a fun map with good survival chances for several strategies: cading, hiding, shotgunning, and fishtanking.

Coming in pretty late to the discussion but Retribution and the 4-Option version of ATIX were pretty fun, even if they were hard to win for one side or another.

Fairly hard to win on this map as a CT unless you cram inside a vent or know one of the certain secret areas. Usually the server will empty out when this map comes up unless it gets rtv'd in a hurry.

I just pulled up the map list and started writing crap down. I add a bunch more later on, mostly zm maps tho. I use to love Mall map until they took away the trash can secret spot :icon_mrgreen:

If Fail Inc is what I think it is, it's also a decent map.

Youre right, Plus just look at the Demo page and notice that maps that get played. I would say out of all the maps played in a week, 95% are Ze maps.
I agree with zambi, westwood is a clasic and decent map.

zm_atix_helicopter_uefinal should be removed. The nuke is glitched so that it only kills people in a very few select spots. Apocalpyse_b6 is a much better expanded version and the original is fine.
