Just seeing if can get a general consensus for Zero on what maps should be removed from the 182 maps of the zmod server

zm_escape_bridge_v1d - quick everyone on top of the escape hatch, unless you catch someone sticking there head out of the finale area the zombies have no chance

zm_hospitalv4
ze_canal_escape - as soon as a fast zombie spawns its all over
zm_city_graveyard - no cading spots, should be a gungame map not zm
zm_roy_abandoned_canals_new
ze_italian_escape_final - an incomplete mess of a map

ze_rooftop_runaway_extended_v6 - helicopter doesn't even make it to the safe zone in time, killing its occupants,

ze_blackmesa_escape_final
zm_horror_hotel
zm_city19_intel

Abandoned_ProjectsV01 - really old map from the begining of zmod, built for classic zombies
ZM_Bio_FEAR - bad, just plain bad
zm_atom_deathway_b1
zm_highschool - no real cading spots, only a disco
cs_italy - regular css map, and theres a whole bunch of regular css maps on the server.
ze_turokbase_beta2 - just mindless wandering in the fog, I have yet to see anyone make it to the end of the map
zm_hotel

any idea why are there two zm panics?

I agree with Kavinsky with most of the maps he listed except for the following:

zm_hospitalv4 - I've caded other rooms myself. As long as there are people that don't ruin it that is. Other than that, I would usually hold up pretty well there.
ze_backmesa_escape_final - Not so keen on the escaping part, but golly I get a lot of kills vent camping there and trying to make an epic escape at the end which usually leads to an epic fail.
zm_highschool - I've seen other rooms with decent barricade objects.

To add to the list:

All regular CSS deathmatch maps.
zm_island_defence_v2 - not a whole lot of barricade spots...just map exploitation (i.e. wall glitching and pit hiding)
zm_umbrella_corp - the objects you cade with just fail...a fast zombie can get through any barricade spots in the map
any maps that contain the word "office" in it EXCEPT for zm_vc2_lila_off!ce (I think that's what it's called. You can camp the power line there or the letters in the back of the map.
all versions of elevator escape because the nuke takes so damn long to detonate after calling for it.

That's all I can think of on the top of my head.

Please note that not all of the maps on that list are actually still on the server, that list only takes into account any map that has ever been voted on. The system is not advanced enough to determine if a map is still relevant.

As for elevator escape, I could double the hitback on that map would that help?

ah I see so theres a good chance half the maps I've picked are already gone....

it would help zero, but what really needs to be done for the elevator escape maps is for the wall that separates the humans and the zombies at the end (where you call for the nuke) needs to be rasied so the jumpers cant get to you without going up the walkway like all the other zombies and jam the water pits at there highest level from the getgo so you dont have to shoot the pumps and wait for the water to rise. Seeing as the jumping and waiting for the elevator bits already slow everyone down enough.

okay so this one can actually be fun, but what about doing away wih the escape verison of this map instead, hospital v3? I mean after all its just one big rush into that one room on the second floor, shoot stuff into your incomming teammates ect ect

and I do agree with getting rid of zm_umbrella_corp or atleast putting more cading materal in like vending machines and cabnets everywhere

I can deal with all the maps above that kavinsky and hobo have mentioned. There is only two maps that I truly hate and refuse to play. Mario Escape and Boat escape. These two maps seriously need to be removed from the list of maps (there still on there I just checked). Mario escape is a well thought out map but having only on tube in the beginning and all 30 players trying to go through it as fast as they want. That gets people stuck in the teleport and nobody wants to ztele out. Boat escape is just as bad but it has been overplayed. What I've figured out is its everyman for himself on escape maps. Thats why I hate them.

while on the topic of maps.. ... where is zm_wtfhax ........ i think its on version 6.. and its one of the best maps ever.. with near or over a dozen secrets.. imo the best since samoa cookies!!

yeah ATIX is prenuker central (by the way look out for the tag team prenukers D O T A and 1^1^1^1^ who were at it this afternoon) and hardly anyone does well on that map unless there the first zombie and everyones jammed up at one of those damn doors on top of the ladder.

Boat Escape could be made fun again, if they did away with the pods, put in two helicopters in there place and also moved there ct's spawn and part of the t spawn there too and of course get rid of those damn walls that only open when the boats hit them.

Mario is only fun if you've got 10 or 15 players on it
and ive never heard of zm_wtfhax, and chances are that was a joke.

no its a real map lol... its on fpsbanna .. i played in on steamgamers.. or some other server.. back when i didn't exist on IBIS.. yes that would be like around 1.5 years + ago o.o

its called wtfhax .. because there are smoking speed hack dualies.. invisible walls.. invisible staircases,... invisibile rooms... etc...etc... etc.. ye that map was the shit.. way better then all the nonsense "map makers" create
today :(

Hmm sounds like a fun map. Yeah im back now that ive got a new graphics card and the fucktards of synergy are driving me nuts along with its idiot developers (but as soon as I get a mic at xerocore there going to make me an admin there so it should be a bit better there after that.

Why don't we get the new version of boatescape? I don't remember the name of what version it's on (v6 redux maybe?), but it has an automated helicopter with extra long struts so it always takes off and it's pretty hard to fall off of. The boat path (the end at least) is also more defendable (maybe not with jumpers, have only played on classic zmod servers) because of a closeable/breakable gate. The side path (left side of canal) is also extended all the way down so the human don't have to jump in the water and they can take the teleporter and hold that patch until the boats break the wall. The pods have also been removed in favor of a hut with a breakable door that leads to the aforementioned teleporter.

I know that this map is just brand new, but I'm gonna add mines_of_moria on here. Its starting to become the new ATIX. People are always demanding that we should go play it and start spamming the mic when the map won't change to it.

Indeed inthebutt and then as soon as the novelty has worn off people will treat it just like atix, which it doesn't deserve, It just needs some work, a few things need to be added and removed to make it abit more fun and fairly balanced.

Like that out of place annoying teleport that badly needs to be removed the one with the gigantic arow over it that teleports the zombies directly to you, completely bypassing the cade you set up for them and essentially ending the match early if its a good fast zombie.

as for Fast zombies themselves they need to be disabled for that map or maybe have there speed reduced to about the same as classic with there regular fast maneuverability to set them appart and flashlights and parachutes need to be reenabled on the human side but not on the zombie side.

Because typically half the human team tries to make the jump at the breaking bridge after the fisrt one has made it across and they never ever make it, its like half the team are lemmings!

and paper I didn't even know there was another version of boat escape out, maybe zero could replace boat escape 5 with it since no one plays that map anymore

ZM escape the eye - alot of good cading spots but its an escape and it lags badly, try it with the no block on mario it might help

zm concrete - a map based around a broken building with no cading spots, most people hide up in the raptors

I think there are too many problems with mines of moria for it ever really work with classes. The falling bridge is completely bypass-able by all zombies with the exception of the deformed, so even if all the humans did have parachutes, the zombies could just jump the gap (because you KNOW there won't be enough humans defending, it would be an exaggerated version of spacestation because everyone would think they were doing good by both standing by the door so they can rush through when it opens and shooting (and missing) at the zombies).

When we switch to the new admin system out vote map system will also be converted to be based on the maprating results. Maps with higher ratings will appear in the vote more often. Also I will be able to separate zm and ze maps so that there is never a vote that is all zm or ze.

I bet if you did that, people would love to play it. I still love to play it even though its not on now. I always throw that in a custom map vote even if I know it wont win just cause I love it that much.

I like most of the maps on here, though I'm not a fan of Hospital, Elevator Escape, Off Ski, or the new space station. I like the old one with the 3 ships and the extra hidden one instead of this stupid one ship only thing.

problem is that everyone here has played most of the maps a billion times and they tend to displace the badly needed new maps, I'm not saying get rid of all of them but balance it so its 50/50 new maps/classics, right now its about 10/90.
