Because i've played ibis for long enough, it went from playing with pros to playing with complete idiots. The whole system is a lie, only promote people to ULA and Clan who frequent on the GG server and base rankings by how good of a hack catcher you are.. You cant count on players reporting it because they don't know about the Forums. Then if a admin does report it he will get shit on for doing the right thing.

In order to be a decent admin you cant play in-game the entire time. You gotta go into spec to watch when there is a problem. Not just ban when one of your group members complain about a player. Gotta remember if a Player seeing an admin doing shit then he will think its okay too.
Of course some of the rules need to be tweaked and im sure will whenever Zero gets back. Until then you cant break the rules or admin abuse and then blame it on IBIS.

What do you really expect us to do? Suggestions for improvement go ignored. I remember asking months ago about doing something about the insane length of nade fire time. Plenty of regs agreed with me. Nothing ever happened. There are dozens of threads in this forum going back months/years with solid suggestions for improvement that were similarly ignored. When Zero actually does make changes to the server, it's usually random stuff that nobody asked for that either makes things worse (the horrible knockback plugin, the arbitrary limit of 1 ztele per round on escape maps, the gigantic sword skins on the lotr maps that block half the fucking screen) or at best have a neutral effect (disabling fall damage on ze, the anti-spam jump plugin: these things help on some maps but make others worse). At least the people still posting in this thread have some interest in the community. Plenty more regs have just left completely.

One point should be clear, nothing in server can change without zero doing it and it is his sole decision. We can suggest just like you all, nothing more. We can however make rules based on our knowledge among a few other things. This is the largest problem I see with the current situation. While I appreciate all of the work Zero puts into keeping things going, without delegating authority and allowing clan to receive input from players and make changes, the zm server will progress no further than it is today. I know other members of the community possess the skills necessary to make changes that people are recommending but reserving that change authority to a single individual is asinine and short-sighted.

As for stopping the finger pointing, that’s a negative Ghost Rider. Sure we all play some part, but clan represents the community more than anyone else and if shit isn’t getting done to fix the problem then the finger still needs to be pointed; if not at you then at someone higher up the chain.

I already suggested this a year ago but I guess I'll say it again.. ZERO needs to give specific FTP permissions to certain clan members. Aren't the clan members supposed to be the most trust-worthy group of people? They're supposed to be the people we look up to, yet ZERO doesn't trust them so well with the FTP access. If aNex was still around, he could of given it to him and things would be a lot different now. The server would actually be a lot more fun to be in. GFL also has this system. I think it's safe to say a majority of the people come for ze, there's just more to it than zm. however i agree with you that this IS and zm server with ze maps, that in itself may be a problem regarding try hard ze maps. ibis will never win those maps unless the right people are on but that will never happen

I already suggested this a year ago but I guess I'll say it again.. ZERO needs to give specific FTP permissions to certain clan members. Aren't the clan members supposed to be the most trust-worthy group of people? They're supposed to be the people we look up to, yet ZERO doesn't trust them so well with the FTP access. If aNex was still around, he could of given it to him and things would be a lot different now. The server would actually be a lot more fun to be in. GFL also has this system. Lot's of things are always being added and removed there. Sometimes without anyone noticing. And that's the great thing about it: Things get done. We tried.

No seriously, solution:
There's no need for pre-admin exams. We went through that. We allow everyone equal opportunity to be part of the admin community to improve the server. Heck I became an admin on my first day in ibis and look where I got. It's about the mentality. If they fuck up, we as a team of clan/ulas/admins should be working together instead of playing the name game... it's getting old.

I do miss some of the old days but it has NOTHING to do with the servers themselves, but the PLAYERBASE that changed. it's not zero or clan's fault that your game is being shat on by a dimwitt with a mic for example.

It's your responsibility as an admin to clean up your own environment, while ula's responsibility is cleaning up hackers, and clan's responsibility is to make/edit/fix the rules and handle the abuse cases that YOU send us.

Granting ftp access does not do much b/c there is nothing in there anyone would be able to change. For example the nade length times. They are determined by mathematical formula within the plugin itself, a plugin I made. The only way to change it even if someone other than me wanted to would be to have the source code, edit it and recompile. They would also need to be careful to use a compiler version that is <= the current version running on the server and >= the original compiler fore the code. They would also need to have all the current native function and custom extension sets. Yes for something like that it is easy for me to make the change (when I am not on my laptop). However, explicitly in the case of the fire nades they are the main thing that holds zombies back in escape maps. Without there current times escape maps would be impossible. I do though plan to implement some new nades and then reduce the fire nades to balance this out. However, I got to actually program these things.

Take for example the idea of having particular maps only enabled on some days. It is not as though there is a setting for this an entire mod to manipulate the mapcycle would need to be created. Maybe the map plugin we used a long time ago had an option like this but we had to remove that plugin as it was found to the the cause of a strange glitch where the server would freeze up for a split second whenever a player joined. This highlights yet another issue with trying to change particular things. Just because a mod does exist to do XYZ does not mean that said mod actually works or works without causing problems in the server. The usual solution is for me to reprogram or make said mod myself. This takes as you can imagine a shit ton of time.

As for other things like the sword blocking half your screen. I had not heard anyone complain about that bring a big problem. If there had been a thread made I could change it for a different model or make it so that you can opt out of the mod when your on the map. There is a lot of stuff I look at every day so unless you make a big thread complaining about it or pm me a few times I am not going to know how urgent an issue it is and fix it.

One issue I see is that some of you feel that the issues you bring up are ignored or that particular things are not being worked on. I will say that one issue with that is that many major changes are discussed heavily in the clan section of the forums so that we can figure out exactly how we want the changes to ultimately take effect on the server without people freeing out at something that is just an idea and not a solid decision. Perhaps one way to resolve these issues if for me to create some sort of tracker like trello or something that users can post issues to. Not only would it help the clan and I to keep track of things that people want done to the servers but also let you all know what is being worked on and a more general idea of priorities. Trello also has an upvote feature so we can get an idea about how much support a particular idea has. Now as for changes I am going to be back in the states this month and hope to already start pushing out major updates to ZM by the end of the month. These range from gameplay updates to redoing the entire ranking system from scratch and resetting the ranks at that point.
