Okay, so I just got this new custom rig, and I was going through it deleting everything I didn't want and didn't need. (i.e. Yahoo! IM, old ass version of Photoshop, ect.)

As I did with my laptop, I removed Windows Media Player, because I have no use for it, I use Quicktime.

But now, I can't do anything.

Whenever I click on Control Panel, It tells me I need to send an error report, and it restarts.

It's really pissing me off, I don't know what's wrong.

Please halp..

Could you copy and paste what the error report says? Usually in send error report box there should be a line of text at the end that says "To see what data this error report contains click here". Might help out some with the resolution.

Give me a second to go back downstairs and look at it.

I'm on my moms lappy.

Its a bad move to try to delete windows media player. If you do it wrong it causes massive issues. If you are on a new system i would format and start clean any way. And error codes would be nice :P

please click the click here button and copy the data in there. That contains the error code and will make it easy to find out what caused the error other then just the generic screen.

haha I needed you to click the part in the box that actually said click here, that gives us nerds all the spicy details, the java problem is probably a simple fix.

I can't click anything else beyond these two screens.

It shuts down after that.

See that little error message that popped up in your second screen shot. Near the bottom is two blue words saying to click here for more info. Click that and it will give you the actual error code. This will be a few strings of numbers and letters.

Yea, what Silent said, if it crashes even when you do that I'd say it's time to reinstall :(

If it crash's before you can click it the first option i would say would be to uninstall java and reinstall it and see what happens. The first error is JVM which is a program needed to run java applications on your system, the second is a win32 which deals with all dll files this could be caused by the error with java. The only other questions i need to ask is did this just start to occur when you started to delete programs? What version of windows XP are you running and what service pack are you currently on.

It's the Home Edition of XP.

And yes, it did.

I know what not to delete, so I know it wasn't my doing.

I was deleting the Yahoo shit, and Adobe, and other photo programs.

Nothing else.

just looks likes your msn messenger is the problem, updating to the newest one might work, or we could try and replace that dll that is causing the issue, what do you think silent?

Something tried to delete Microsoft messenger or corrupt it. This service cannot be deleted and would cause errors if something messed with it. There is a more detailed info if you clicked technical button on that for the direct code but it is not worth it. I would either do a system restore to before what ever you did or throw in your windows cd and see if it will repair the error. If you do not want msmsgs.exe running you can disable it in registry, do not try to delete its file location or mess with it because it will cause errors. If you have this file any were else on your system other then in the messenger folder it could be a virus.

lol gay porn ? lol lol lol I thought this was a new custom system? You should aways format systems you purchase form other people who have used them. All you need to do is throw in your windows cd, It will ask you if you would like to boot from cd and hit any key. You want to go down to setup windows XP on the options. When it asks you what drive you want to install the OS on you want to select the drive that the OS is currently on and at the bottom there should be options for format. Once it is done and you repartition the space you will need to select it again for the install. Make sure you use NTFS for the new partition also. It will take some time if you do a full format and to install the OS. This will take some time so be patient and read everything. All data on the drive you do this on will be DELETED. You will need to install all the software you use including virus scan, web browser, windows updates ext.... I also suggest instead of downloading that resource hog and crappy program quick time i would install VLC. If you are confused at all there is tons of resources online which give step by step help.

You should get the person you got the system from to give you the OS cd. Almost all computers bought from a company come with a OS cd so you might have on laying around from other system. If not you have 3 choices pirate a new OS cd, buy a new one, ask a friend. Make sure if you do pirate a new cd that you do not use the system that might have virus's on it to download and burn it.

lol, i have a bit more knowledge on pc problems than the average people I've met, so they ask me for help a lot. The first thing I ask them is if they've got their OS/boot disk.... the answers always no.

I've learned that if you don't have any tech experiance, then you probally don't have your OS disk.

Haha, I'll ask him for it.

But idk if he has it.

Fuck..

I'm about to throw it out the window.

I can't even do a system restore.

Won't allow me to get to it to click on it.
