Also noobs are always going to be around unless you make a private server. With our leadership in new technology along with the strength of the IBIS community we will weather any storm and I can say that the economic climate has resulted in far greater losses than any split off has in the last 3 years. I really do not mind anyone making there own server and what not as long as they are not using IBIS for recruiting. In the end it only makes the CS:S community stronger as better servers are provided. Logically if people like what IBIS is going they will copy some stuff and similarly if I like what they do I am likely to copy and modify it. It is a free market and competition makes everyone stronger. On a side note I hope that they add there server to zmtop50.com to help track its progress. It is a good way to help chart growth and get a better way of seeing how changes impact the server. Because it tracks unique hits and total hits it can also be used to create a breakdown of loyalty and to see how effective new strategies are at attracting players.

But I bet Res misses all the regulars that were there a few months ago - March/April/May were the best months in my opinion. It's when we all had such a tight tight group with many of you guys. Some of the current admins like Inf have been doing stuff like burning the entire server and such, and it just makes it a bit annoying for some people. But just because there's a few bad moments, doesn't mean that there isn't still way more good.

IBIS is strong and I know it will continue to be great and improve given time, and I don't think I'd ever even consider leaving here. And I'm glad you wouldn't either Res. We both spent way to much time as an admins trying to help the zm server and made too many great friends to do such a thing.

Getcha has been a regular on ZM for quite a long time, she hasn't driven anyone away. Meanwhile, there's quite a list of people who check GG before joining for a certain mic spammer.

It's also more laggy, the admins have no code so they do whatever they want, all map votes are controlled by admins and those admin skins you mention are juvenile(naked women? come on). The player skins so far are nothing to write home about yet and half of the people I've invited gave up in the middle of downloading all these special skins, so it's not exactly a benefit.

There's some promise in that they're receptive to changes, but that's only because it's a young server (third day). Once things have settled, I doubt it'll change much.

As for server fluctuations ya it happens but there is definite need for fix's on the zm server. I quit it playing on it for a few reasons.

1. No new maps. We were stuck on an endless loop of 3 maps and there was never a change.

2. Bad admins. People would purchase admin and think that they were god like and make up any rules or use there powers for there own good. I think it really needs to be established what the rules are because many admins just kick, slay, slap people for things they don't like.

3. VoteMute. Votemute should be installed on the server. There are plenty of votemute mods out there for eventscirpts and sourcemod one of them will work on the server and stop the mic spammers. I included some scripts below.

Muting is pretty easy, and so are bans.

Beacons are as easy as typing @beacon name into all talk, and keeping the peace isn't hard.

Being admin is not fucking hard. I was an admin before on 3 major communities and I didn't pay for my admin. I was a clan member and I was there when people needed assistance for bans and kicks. You guys have no idea how to handle it then don't pay for it.

Yeah Silent, and I know Kavinsky and a few other people have been hoping for the mute feature a lot too.

And actually Mallissin, even though I'm an admin there, I'm just an observer. I've already told Zero what I've found out about it. Rezel and Southside have been inviting a lot of players from IBIS, which has hopefully stopped. And I've stopped going into Fateless. So, I'm no longer involved with them. When I said I'm not leaving IBIS, I meant it. And if you don't believe me Mallissin, then watch and see.

The Fateless thing started because Rezel wanted to turn Alyid into a clan, I told him no because I want to be with IBIS. Alyid is just simply a group to keep track of good players and friends, nothing more. Then we ran into Southside, who had been started a ZM server. Rezel started helping and I was just put there as a 'co-founder' because I introduced Rezel to Southside.


I wonder how many people rolled their eyes when he came onto the server earlier to announce on mic that he's "Too busy to play", yet he's sitting on spec talking to people.

And I was busy. I hate not being able to play because of chores and schoolwork and everything else. I had just woke up not too long before that after staying up all night helping a friend finish his work too.

wow, RES has already settled this and yet the thread still goes on.

ZERO or MBP can we add a feature to a thread to where when someone creates a thread the creator can close it too??

christmas and loka are right getcha, being an admin isn't that hard but I do know where getcha is coming from when your the only admin on (like she usually is) and a bunch of people are asking for beacons and complaining about stuff.

It seems like to me that I need to have admin, cause I refuse to play ZM without it. no offense but alot of the admins are too slow to respond. yes they could be dealing with something else, but really when I say someone is cade breaking or blocking its really happening, there is no need to ask me are you sure?? or where are they??. come on I wouldn't just do that to get random people kicked or banned.

plus I have a nice little list of people that I am gonna ban when I have admin next month, yes you may have thought I couldn't ban you this month cause I have no admin and you think you can get away with it but oh are you wrong.

oh and loka, we were all noobs at one point, but we learned not to be noobs, some idiots just keep fucking around and doing jack shit. I saw if your in the ZM server for at least 2 weeks and your still breaking rules than 7 day ban for any offense, simple as that. 2 weeks is enough time to learn in a server of what your suppose to do and what your not suppose to do. admins are way to nice these days.
