Here is a thread to post your photography in. Please do not post anything that you would post in the "post your picture" threads. Also, please make sure it is your OWN photography (or at least something you were closely involved in).
Try to keep discussions on-topic—commenting on other's photos or discussing cameras or photoshop methods are both good options.
I realize that there are photo albums on each user's profile page, but personally I don't tend to make the effort of going to check if so-and-so posted any new pictures.
Oh, and do me a grand favor and try not to diss other people's photos, even if they suck.
Have at it!

Did you/someone you know take it?
:wtg: why
Because, I didn't really mean for this to be a post-your-random-pictures-that-you-found-on-the-internet thread. I thought it could be a picture to show your own photography, as I stated in the original post.

Sweet. Awesome colors.
I recently signed up for this photo editing program called Picnik. I really like some of the filters I have, and this way I don't have to go through the trouble of using photoshop (and getting an imperfect result, at that).

I have a regular Nikon point and shoot, and they are awesome. However, Canon Rebel has to be far none the best DSLR.

I had a Nikon point & shoot too, and it was actually really awesome... Great bang for your buck. It was particularly good at outside shots where you didn't need the flash--even close-ups. It was very detailed and had great colors.
I'm currently using a Canon Rebel XT, but I admit that I don't know how to use it at all and mostly rely on the automatic settings. I really need some booklets and/or tutorials and/or classes.
I learned how to mess around with a Rebel through just dicking around with it and taking random photos that didn't mean much. That's how I learned. Even my Nikon point and shoot seemed to have some things that weren't quite touched upon in the manual.
Very cool idea. I have quite a few pics lying around and so I worked on some for the last hour so that I would have something to post. I physically took all of these pics :wtg:
Unfortuantly the images are too big to upload from this connection. I will see if I can get it on deviantart....
ok I made them smaller:

I don't know much about photography. What I DO know is that those pictures look great, Zero.
And AI_Scout -- nice car =P
Thanks, I will be putting the high res versions on deviant art. Now that I saw how easy it was to make the pics look great (I can upload pics of the originals if you want to see) I think that I will look into doing more work on this sort of stuff. Although I do not have a good camera (actually none at all) I do travel (often) to some of the most beautiful places in the world. Thanks to this thread I have decided to actually post up work on deviantart and hopefully show more people the amazing things that I have seen in this world.

I'd be interested to see the originals and hear how you get from those to the final product. They seriously look professional.
I will shrink the originals and upload them. But yea I spent like a few seconds on each pic. 99% of the time was actually spent computing the effects. What I did was reduce brightness and increase contrast. In two of them I then colorized. Next I cartooned them and then oil painted them. Lastly for some I game a canvass effect becuase I wanted to see how it might look as an actual pic.

Yeah, I can see how it makes quite a difference. It kind of sounds like a lot of steps to go through--how did you learn what to do? Just played around with it?
Well although I am not very familiar with photo editing I am use to video editing. So I knew I could bring out the color more with the brightness and contrast. As for the others I know them from playing around. I knew I wanted to make it look like a painting so I clicked the cartoon button and then the oil button after that. If I did not like the effect I just undid it and did something else or just altered the settings on the effect. It may have been made easier b/c I was listing to Led Zeppelin...
Here is one I made in the last 10min using the same method:

lol. no you can't. I asked the flight attendant and she said go ahead. I took plenty of pictures. That only applies during take off and landings. Not like anyone cares anyways.
What? Why would it matter if you take pictures outside of the plane window? I've done that quite a few times...

LOL. Actually... I remember when I was younger and were flying alone, you could take pictures with the pilots at the cockpit. Now since 9/11 access to the cockpit is pretty tight. It only applies to video cameras, but pictures are allowed.

The first one is when The Kid's best friend came over (they keep saying they want to marry each other), and I thought she had the cutest little buttons on her leggings.
