This is the check list for the sm version of GG.
Green = Done
Yellow = Done Part
Orange = started programing
Red = started planning/requests
Purple = Untested but available
Normal = not done
Get GG running locally
Configure weapon order to be the same
Configure Knifing to the the same
Configure team killing to work the same
Get scoreboard to display current level
Get bodies to dissolve
Get no block
Bullet Tracers
Get grenade trails (program from scratch|currently canceled)
Set up wins sounds
Convert wins as a test
Get winner motd display
Get map changes to work correctly
Set up temp test server on main server
Copy admins and reserved slots
Test 24 hours
Shut down main server
Copy logs over
Copy bans over
Copy and convert wins database
Release of server
I have made a post to the developer of the gg plugin offering $$$ in exchange for a plugin update with the changes I want by the end of the week. This should result in a much more stable plugin in the long run and also saves me from needing to spend a lot of time coding these changes myself so I can work on the nade trails plugin over the next week. Hopefully he accepts b/c I am willing to pay a lot of money to get this server switched asap.

Ok I am not sure if I am going to be able to make the little trail that follows nades when they are thrown. I will keep working on it but I think that it is actually going to be very hard to do becuase of the way that sm handles entities and effects.
and dam it is getting packed, I am running out of drive space...

I am talking about my drive space as in the amount of free space on my HDD. I have 5 and they are all 80% filled and once you cross 80% performance drops off. I am going to need to add another 2TB soon....
This is unrelated to the servers.

TODAY the maker of the plugin made a release with the changes I asked for! He did this for FREE, despite this I still plan to send him $50 for getting this up so fast once we have swapped the servers! (if I can find his paypal address)

Test server is bring compressed for transfer now, test server will be available tonight! A new post will be made when server is up.
Upload started it will take about 2 hours to finish.

If I could do that every player on earth would have our servers on their fav list and I would probably be in jail or on some uber ban list from valve.
I will post the ip but it will be the same as the current server just on port 27016

i don't understand why cs doesn't have a straight up connect via IP method. like, if i have the ip of a server, i have to add it to my favorites in order to connect to it...unless i'm missing something
edit: never mind. i just typed in connect: 208.43.70.233:27015 in console and it took me to normal gunGame. wow. never realized you could do that lol

ZERO, noticed a glitch...
When someone is on nade level (26) and uses their nade, normally if they kill someone else they get another nade...and another...and so on.
Well...that isn't working. I was on Nade Level and wasted my original nade, then shot/killed someone...nothing, then knifed/killed someone...nothing.

You're a god amongst men. Oh and God bless you for doing what you do. Most people don't realize the pittance you receive for admin privileges and reserve slots don't come close to paying for the bandwidth, equipment and hours you put in, and all the while these clowns scream "Where's our admin money going" when in reality the $11 a month should be thought of as more of a 'thank you for the kickass community, clan, and servers.'

A few bugs but that's to be expected. Panda and Acolyte, and Mag can tell you. I remember that the deaths don't register and a few others. Ran smooth tho when I was there but there were only a few of us.

It does take levels. It will tell you that it will not take a level from anybody on level 5 or below. Unless this is a new problem that we didn't figure out earlier..
That was fixed it was a simple cvar change. All the bugs have now been fixed we will go live soon.

Seems to be working flawlessly. Saw no choke or loss when we got up to around 10-12 people after you went to bed.
A lot of people liked the fact there are no deaths shown anymore, but I noticed newcomers late in the round still start at para? I seem to remember newcomers would start at a higher level depending on where the average level was when they entered. Was this removed or is the script on your pile to convert? It seemed to make the maps take a lot longer without it.

Just noticed a few things just by playing the last 3 maps ZERO:
1. Tracers are off. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. If you switch from burst fire back to standard, they don't work at all.
2. Mapvotes still aren't coming up. Played through 2 full maps without getting a random map vote.
3. Deaths still aren't showing. And so far, everyone I have played with says this is very annoying and that they should show.
I'll update some more once I play some more.
I do not really see how they could work and then not work. It only looks at bullet impact event and starts from there. Weapon and other things like that have no impact on the script. It does however generate a random number to determine if it is going to make a tracer. However there is a known problem in the game engine that random numbers are not always random.

All issues fixed in last update should take effect next server reboot.

Not liking the changes to the gun game server myself. Well most I'm ok with but the rtv thing is very annoying. The old way you could not rtv after someone got so high in the levels, now people can rtv even if your on knife or nade, which is annoying when your about to win the game. Anyways my two cents.
ZERO, ma_cexec does not work on the GG server if you want to change a players name (such as unnamed). I tried it 3 times and it said it "ran" it but didn't change the name. So now I'm just going to kick players with unnamed if they don't change it after warnings until it gets fixed.

Oh so THIS is how you change someones name? So I am assuming if you were to change "unnamed" to something else you would type:

You can get knived off of nade level by another nader, but for some reason being forced to suicide by killing a teammate didn't take a nader down to lv24.
Edit: Also, I just got a kill with nade, on nade level, that also killed myself. On the old setup, I'd have won the map. It didn't work out this time. :(
As for RTV and the ma_cexec things those are mani issues that have not been changed or are effected by gg. I will look into fixes though. As for the nade level issues I will look it over and see what I can do. As for killing you and another with the nade it could half to do with it registering your death before theirs and thus you lost your levels before getting the actual nade kill...

Apparently killing yourself with a nade after the round ends now counts as a suicide. Also, nade level has unlimited nades.

I'm really getting pissed that I can't join a game for 20+ minutes at a time because the "server is full" even though I am an admin.

I think it's due to the source tv bot. Can't you set up sourcetv with a hidden spectator?
Has nothing to do with the source tv bot as it uses an invisible slot. Once again if people are tying up the connection slot no one can get though. It is like the speed lane at the toll booth, you can fly though it but if all the dipshits caused a traffic jam before the booth you got to go though that first. If you set it to retry connection or what ever the option is you will get in as soon as the reserved slot opens. Also if the server suddenly becomes that much more popular now we can add more reserved slots like we did for the zm server.

The GG server now has about a 1sec lag spike every time a mapvote comes up.

I noticed that.
Sorry that was may failed attempt to fix rtv from working after the vote has started. I have now undone it and the lag should be gone when the update take effect. As a solution to the rtv problem I have made my own plugin that disables it after 10min.

-when you TK and are slayed, have it only remove 1 death instead of 2. People are getting a bit pissed at this.
-disable the slay option due to a TK after the round is already over (a lot of ppl just like to have fun and BOOM they are slayed and the kill against the team mate didn't even harm them)

It's always been that way though. People are probably only noticing it now because it prints in chat that you lost two levels.

EDIT: It's actually happening right before MULTIPLE kills, not just the last one. Basically 75% of the time when someone is about to kill someone, it lags. Which basically fucks you on where you are going to go next b/c you don't know where the hell you are going to end up.
Or is it when clients are trying to connect to a full server... I know that there is a known problem of that causing lag and valve refuses to fix it...
