Recording Demos: Best/easiest way?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, which it is, but what is the best/easiest way to record/upload a demo? I know it has something to do with the console and a command but I am not sure as to what it is.

I believe I have only given out 1 perma-ban since I have been back so I haven't really found the need to record demos/learn how...but I definitely want to learn that now.

and it will start recording it.

then type stop in console and it will stop


your demo will be in your cstrike folder. then just click the upload attachment button on the forums, upload it and your good 2 go.

So that will record just a generic demo with my screen as the main view? What about if I am trying to record a hacker? Do I just go into spectators, spectate him and then start the demo just as you posted?

correct. go spec, start your recording and just watch the hacker.

You should test it out that way you know what you're doing ahead of time just in case you do come across a hacker :)

if you type in voice_loopback 1 before the record command, it will loop your mic back through the speakers. this will allow you to get any commands you issue to people on log, just in case.

Just gotta figure out how to do this on my MAC. I just figured out how to access my files in Steam and CSS, but now I gotta figure out how to pull one onto my desktop. I'll figure it out somehow.

After you started recording, be sure to open console and type


sb_status

To get everyone's Steam ID's etc.
