Have fun with Halo... otherwise PS3 has more and better games... (not to mention PS1 classics like FF7, FF tactics, RE 1,2,3, etc.)
Ive been thinking of getting a new Xbox 360 (since my last one got the red ring of death) 2 years ago... but anything I would want for xbox is better on my gaming PC.
I might consider getting new xbox when Halo Reach comes out but until then I will stick to PC gaming.

I dont love it... but having it Red Ring of Death didnt make me happy.

I was a huge Halo and Halo 2 fan... still have a working Halo special edition Xbox... and 30+ games.... but when it comes to Xbox 360 I either pick it up for my PS3 or PC.

There's really no reason to get an elite anymore. You can get the basic version for $199 and it has an HDMI out on it now. Then just buy a 250gb HD for the xbox off of ebay for like $60 and you're good to go. Twice the capacity of the elite, for about $40-50 cheaper.

do what I do. install the game your playing 2 your harddrive. then the xbox doesn't have 2 run worth 2 shits when you play. doesn't get hot or anything.

a while ago they changed to a new chipset, the jasper chipset i believe it was called. ran much cooler and didn't fuck up like this. oxm or gameinformer had an article about how to know if yours had jasper or not.
