So I recently discovered Torrents because I always thought it was a heap of viruses. So I finally tried uTorrent and hopefully I wont have to pay for many games any more ;D

This thread is for Torrents ! Torrents you like, programs you use.. etc etc.

I generally avoid full out piracy, but I must say I do love my torrents. How else will I download 25 gigs of Red vs Blue?

I personally use utorrent, and completely love it, soft on my system, and doesnt effect my internet to much, just have to remember to turn them off to play counterstrike... yea I have lagged up the servers doing that a few times :o 600 ping and information loss ftw!

TBH I use it mostly for unlicensed anime(or anime that ill watch but will not buy in a million years), or things I own that is to ruined to work anymore/lost (Original Myst disk/Nancy Drew and the secret of the scarlet hand, im looking at you). Also I have torrented some movies I have on VHS beacuse I dont want to buy 50$ hardware to digitize them. that copyright protection on VHSs is cheating I swear, how dare you put it where the closed captioning is!
Right now im downloading Needless

There are other ways to share your files though, i mean look at this http://home.starsmine.operaunite.com/stream/ its my whole amv collection XD

There was a site that my cousin gave me that seeded very heavily and gave double dl speed because of the holiday season. Problem was if you didn't seed enough the users would put you on a blacklist which was stupid because I don't leave my laptop idle and Bittorent running.

For clients uTorrent is a very light and efficient for what you need for torrents.

I believe that site would be called Bitsoup. IMO, its the best for torrents. You have to seed and give back at least half of what your dling.

i used to use torrentspy to get my torrents, but then they blocked us ip addresses so i switched to mininova and thepiratebay.

i've tried plenty of torrent programs and azeureus is still the best

torrents = games only?
Torrents are used for anything and everything digital, they are used to avoid server costs (and lawsuites for the illegal ones) the only limitations are really personal, and how fast the seeder can upload, I myself cant up load much faster the 250 kb/s

Digital is equal to...

- Movies
- Hd Movies
- Documentaries
- E-Books
- Audio Books
- Music (esp hard to find ones)
- Comics
- Games
- Programs
- Porn

Mass Effect 2 had the craziest leech/seed ratio I have ever seen. Connected to max amount of people, I was getting (on average) 800 kb/s. I <3 Vuze.

Pro tip: Set values to "0" for inceased speeds.

also it is useful to dl anime especially for current running anime that has been fansubed. Note that if it is unlicensed in the us you violate no law in downloading or watching a fan sub.

you still do, its just there are even fewer people who care.
basically there is absolutely NO chance you will be prosecuted for it

Downloading fansubs, regardless of their license status is illegal in United States and various other countries. United States Code Title 17 does not allow distribution of copyrighted work by anyone except the copyright owner
