I like Grey Goose but for the everyday regular thing Absolut does just fine.
Black + White Russians (with light cream NOT milk) are good. Cape Codders, Salty Dogs, etc. That's the Absolute usage.
Mixing up different martinis, Appletini, Cosmopolitans, on the rocks with lemon, regular martinis, or mixed with any of the flavored Schnapps, I like to use Grey Goose
Definitely Grey Goose with Chambourd!
Been a bartender (not as work) since 8 when my father had wicked parties at the lake house until wee hours of the morning. The drunker I got people the higher the denominations of bills would come in

whiskey>vodka...
although vodka tonic with a slice of lime is my new poison.
i usually avoid vodka due to my inability to taste any alcohol in it. even when drinking it straight.

Ketel One is quite delicious.
Grey Goose is a good example of a bad vodka with a high price that makes people who do not understand vodka think it tastes good. Vodka is supposed to be used in the creation of liquors and to do this is is supposed to have a neutral taste like absolute or sky. Expensive brands put other shit in and try to give it a non neutral flavor to differentiate their product and change more money.

I used to be a vodka drinker, when I first started drinking. I went from Rum and Vodka to Whiskey really, I mainly drink whiskey now ( Jameson's Jack D. Maker's Mark, Seagrams) and sometimes some Tequilla depending on my mood. Whiskey just seems so much more manly. lol

i dunno you cant really mix whisky with anything you know makes it kinda boring.
Vodka is a starter way of drinking. It's such a terrible LQ, and even while mixed, it has no appeal to distinction except terrible bitter to tasteless flavor. You don't have to be a bad bartender to know the difference in Vodka when mixing. At least Bourbon or Whiskey is very distinct, with rum you need to know the difference between light and dark rums. Oh and you can mix whiskey. Manhattans, Boston Sour, variety of Bourbon mixes, Mint Julep...

Neither Grey Goose or Absolute made the list but Stoli Gold did by the skin of their teeth with a 3/10 score
I have Vox here at home too and completely forgot about that until I saw the bottle and it is very good but according to this not the best.
Guess I'll have to try a bottle of, Xxxxxxxxx well, I'm not gonna spoil it for ya.... Go read it :P

Just a quick point re: the forbes thing, that's their "cool bottle" rating. In other words, how awesome does the bottle look, not how good the vodka tastes. You can tell that by the 10th slide, where they say "10/10- Designed by Frank Gehry".

The best vodka is the Russian vodka.
Yeah fireye nailed it. Forbes as a magazine focuses on marketable products. That article was looking for best bottle design (which definitely sells the alcohol) and story of origin or motto. Definitely not looking at Forbes to be a trendsetter of which Vodka tastes the best.

I will always associate vodka as a mixable alcohol in which women prefer. Why? One word. Martini's. Recently went to an Italian Martini bar with my mom and some friends. They use Skyy vodka, and even then, all I could taste was the pomegranate and cranberry of the martini, and not the vodka which was tasteless to say the least. Then I had to get a rum and coke while my friend got a Screwdriver. My friend could taste the rum, while the orange juice took away everything from the vodka.

you should try this then get lemon ice cream, and add vodka you might be suprised about its results.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised though :P because the acidity of lemon is suppose to enhance blandness. It's why lemon juice is perfect for making salad dressings, bland medicines, etc to taste better.

Yup, I consider vodka a womans drink. About on the same level as a light rum. Everything you mix with vodka is to actually remove the taste of the vodka, where as with whiskey you can taste it every time :)

hold onto a lemon slice. take a shot (or double shot) of Baileys Irish Cream, then while it's still in your mouth, bite the lemon.
try that out walter.
oh, and vodka's actually really nice if you mix it with sunny delight.

It may some funny coming from someone who consumes a lot of alcohol, but take a look at this:

You're drinking synthesized shit. But I guess that's not a big deal, considering most of the products we're exposed to daily are synthetic.
Thank you but I'll stick to Tropicana Orange Juice or even better buy a juicer and get real oranges at your grocery store.

Well, light rum is sweet which is why it's mixable to so many cocktails, but rum and coke is always suppose to be mixed with dark rum which is why I always get it. I think the best idea that came to rum is Captain Morgan's Tattoo.
As for womanly drink. It's definitely vodka. My first alcoholic drink was a screwdriver at the age of 12. Vodka had no aftertaste for me or my girlfriends. Like I said, go to a Martini bar. The majority of customers who buy martinis are women. The guys at those bars buy beer.
And Irish Bailey Cream is not to be defined as an alcoholic drink. It's a mixed liquor and it doesn't nearly have the proof that a majority of already mixed and bottled rum, vodka or tequila drinks have. Hypnotiq, Alize, Schnapps are all 34 and below proof drinks. It's probably the official slut drink because it's so cheap and already mixed.

Never had Captain Morgan's Tattoo. Regular Captain yea, but not that, whats the difference between that and regular?

Tattoo is a bit more fruity flavored. Think of it like Jager. I know my friend who loves and swears by Jager up and down loves Tattoo and she isn't a rum fan at all. Since my family is from Puerto Rico, rum is already something that is in my blood. I have a distinction for different rums. Rum is like water for me what Russians consider Vodka as their water.
