I've noticed that most of us here aren't your stereotypical unsocial basement nerds and do go out and such. Many of us end up at home and the end of the night relatively drunk sometimes, so I thought there should be a thread where you may express your drunk feelings for the amusement of everyone later.

I'll start.

I internet heart Christmas, not the holiday, you know who you are. Also Acolyte, he's a breath of self control in this crazy forum world. Lastly Maynard whom I don't think I particularly get along with yet, but he has a handle on everything and is always helpful if you need him, he's the kind of person that should be "clan" if such a thing were real.

I'd open a page of people I don't internet heart but I don't think that would be productive. Also the reciprocal wouldn't turn out well for me I thinks.

For the record there are plenty of people of things that could fit into here, but remember it's a drunk thread so only what/who is most recently on my mind count.

i like high end Tennessee whiskey, but a good irish whiskey will blow it out of the water. i have tried CC but, i'd rather go with rail jack, or some cheap jim.

Absynthe is illegal in the US if it has Thujone in it. Thujone is the chemical that causes hallucinations and basically makes you go nuts.

ironically enough, preparing absinthe the full bohemian style (the flaming sugar cube) removes most of the alcohol.

the water doesn't dilute anything, since you still drink the same amount of alcohol. it simply serves to 'cloud' the drink, and help dull the anise flavor, makes for a much subtler mix of tastes

i'm not a lightweight, by any stretch. just that there's no real good buffer zone. thankfully, my mind is good enough that i naturally stop drinking when i'm getting drunk, and it seems to have its own built-in hangover prevention mechanism. I tell ya if I was deployed with zero access to any alcohol of any kind, the first thing I would drink in the airport when I got back would be a Guinness Extra Stout. So delicious, practically a meal and anyone playing GunGame yesterday afternoon/last night can attest to the fact that they take you where you want to be.

If you get a Blue Moon don't forget to get an orange! It's the only way it should be enjoyed. I like Shock Top but it's not one of my favorites. If you want something totally off beat, try Duck Rabbit Milk Stout. Tastes different from any other beer you've ever had, nearly guaranteed. I won't say it's amazing but I enjoy it as a change of pace every once in a while (I drink maybe a six pack a month unless I go on a bender, LOL).

Vodka is specifically supposed to not have a taste other than alcohol and water and Smirnoff accomplishes this goal without being $100 a bottle/ridiculously overpriced per ounce. In fact, Smirnoff wins in blind taste tests among top world tasters nearly every time when put up against those expensive-as-shit vodka brands. Akroyd's 'Crystal Skull' is nothing more than a novelty marketing scheme imo.

If you're going to go expensive, pay for the stuff that actually matters and gets bolder and more accentuated flavor over time. Get some JD Reserve or a nice, expensive, solid scotch or cognac.
