I actually have no issue with this at the moment. Check out all the fixes.
Counter-Strike: Source
Fixed a crash that could occur after the bomb exploded.
Fixed a crash that could occur when attempting to exit the game.
Changed default values of the following server variables to reflect the increase of the default tick rate from 33 to 66:
sv_mincmdrate - 10
sv_maxcmdrate - 66
sv_maxupdaterate - 66
Marked ‘developer’ cvar as cheat.
Corrected kill/death reporting in gun games. Deaths were not being properly counted in games using instant respawn.
Marked test_round_winpanel, test_match_winpanel, test_freezepanel commands as cheats.
Added sv_nowinpanel and cl_nowinpanel options that can be used to disable the win panel that displays the team winner, MVP, and fun fact at the end of a round.
Clamped ladder dampen values.
Fixed jointeam cvar so giving it invalid values no longer spams the server console.
Removed functionality of cl_minmodels.
Fixed voice indicators to display at all times rather than just after their respective players have come into contact when -alltalk is on.
Fixed scoreboard to display correct number of SourceTV viewers.
Adjusted death notices to display under scoreboard.
Defaulted ‘Simplified list’ to OFF and made the setting persistent.
Fixed an issue that could make it appear as if a player already had one or more MVP stars upon joining a server.
Made text on loading bar more legible.
Added more materials that were missing for community maps.
Engine
Fixed disconnect exploit causing players to be forced off of a server due to an overflowed packet.
Fixed players being able to start the game using a DirectX level less than DirectX8.
Windows Dedicated Server
Added Counter-Strike: Source to the list of games for the dedicated server when running through the Steam client.
An update on the Update
The reason for the recent update was to move Counter-Strike Source (CSS) from the older HL2 version of the Source engine to the most recent version. This brings the CSS codebase in-line with our other games. This resolves long standing issues associated with the older engine and allows us to benefit from features and bug fixes in other source games as they come online, such as improved graphic effects and more accurate hit registration.
During this process we created some unintended side effects, these are bugs. We are actively investigating all reports.
A good example of this is bullet penetration changing on Linux Servers only; not Windows Servers. This was a subtle bug to track down and understand. It has been fixed.
Rest assured we will continue to fix old and new CSS bugs. We want to retain the CSS gameplay experience that you know and love. We would also like to thank everyone reporting bugs and posting constructive feedback. This is an invaluable part of the process.

Frankly I like what they did. They fixed the horrid hit registers and improved the graphics a bit. Its closer to CS 1.6 in terms of hit registry finally like it should have been when originally released.
As long as they continue to fix whats causing crashes and crap there shouldnt be any issues since all they added was the MVP, new simplified server list UI, new score board, and a couple of minor things that didnt affect gameplay at all.

I have yet to see this... I've managed to knife people easier in a fight thanks to the ability to knife them in the face and it do damage.. but not kill someone a few feet in front of me.
They really need to add the headshot with knife from 1.6. That would be awesome.

wish it was the old ways before Steam... when you found a private way to connect like through serverinfo ... that was the best connection.. then steam came out... and steam sucked from the start.... and still sucks... these engineers sit around trying to find ways to fix something that is not broke just to keep a job.... and the head mucky mucks say "yes" that is a great idea... we will keep you around for 4 more weeks to make this happen... and when it fucks up.. they stay on longer to act like they need time to "fix it" when all along they knew what they fucked up.
too bad these "brains" dont work for my credit card company...

OK this is the deal... Servers need the update or zero has then set to automatically update, and all it needs is a simple restart to have the updates to take effect.
Since zero is still on vacation hopefully the 6AM Eastern reboots will fix it. If not zero will have to manually update them real quick. I had to update my little server manually to get it to work. either way it shouldn't be a big problem. It will be fixed after 6am or when Zero checks them out tomorrow after her recovers from his hang-over for drinking
Unfortunately the valve update program crashes when it runs...

Im not sure how you have your servers set up and running, but I got my home server updated it doesn't seem to want to work automatically but i have a shortcut called "Install Updates" and had to manually change the file paths since i think the Updater still tries to still update the old Cstrike folder instead of the now orange box one. It updated like it supposed to once i changed the file path on my shortcut.
No i used the same installer bat files I always do. Although my local copy crashed when running it the servers updated fine...
For the pub I had to delete the installer record file and then it worked. This update seemed to have a buggy roll out.
as for old folder issues. All of the ibis servers were recreated from scratch on fresh install post update so that I would not need to worry about having any old file structure around or wasting HDD space with useless folders and files.

K I really should do the same on mine then, I only use it as a test server for maps and things and lately its been used for some Regs to gather why we wait for ibis to be fixed on the nights like last night
