tips on running better? stop using a ten year old PC. P4 was nice for its time but a computer that old is veary veary slow compared to today's standards.

Also instead of trying to make us decipher that mess you got up there mind just using cpu-z and screen shooting that. that will tell us other things like GPU clock speeds and ram type(IDK if thats ddr or ddr2) IDK your motherboard to tell you what you can upgrade, because unless your a hardware nerd like me one wouldnt be able to make heads or tales of what you posted. just be glad a p4 is easy to spot. It will also tell us other things like GPU clock speeds and ram type(IDK if thats ddr or ddr2) IDK your motherboard to tell you what you can upgrade. Like if your board uses AGB or pci-e for its GPU we can tell you the best GPU upgrade.

Also tell us what PSU you got running

He could try to put a 7800 in as that was the best agp card that he could get but for just a little bit of money he can get a system way faster:
(you can even use the same case!)
So for a bit over $515 just do this:

You should be able to get great fps in all modern games with this. This setup is a major improvement over your current. Just reuse all your other parts. All you need are a new CPU, M/B, RAM and GPU. However you might need a new psu if it is not 500w but even a system that old should have about that.

Also do not try to give me some bs about oh it is too hard. If you can put a lego set together you can build a computer. Lastly it is important to note that the 460 I selected ends in -AR this is so that you can get the lifetime warranty if you register it in 30 days. This will make it so you have great protection on most of your new stuff. The ram for example also comes with a lifetime warranty. The motherboard has a 2 year and the cpu is 3 years.

It is single core so it is on AGP not to be confused with the Soviet KGB AGB
(дерьмо государственной безопасности)

775 is the Core series. Here's a s478 pci-e capable board:

It is also out of stock and no longer made.... any gpu series above that is going to bottleneck anyways. His best beat if he is going to do any upgrade is to spend $500 on what I listed above. That should last him 5 years easy.
