Alright, so, finally getting my ass off of prepaid. I want to get a (is it called subscription?) from a provider (we have KPN, Hi, t-mobile and some others.) But, im looking for Android phones (Hi has HTC ones)
but i dont know which one is best for me to get. I really love the HTC Legend, but if people know issues with this device i would like to know.
Suggestions are welcome. and further info. also questions are welcome.
Droid, rooted running 2.2 and launcher pro! Nothing beats it. Unless your a droid rooted 2.2 with launcher pro running 1.3GHz OC patched kernel!

ALSO, its nowhere to be found for our providers.

This is a useless question considering different countries carry different phones, even if the same carrier is in the states.

i just got the Samsung Vibrant, TMo's version of the Samsung Galaxy S. The stock rom is fast, but full of bloatware and arbitrary shortcuts masquerading as programs. I immediately dropped the stock home app for LauncherPRO, which is godly. I had a MyTouch 3G before with cyanogen 5.0.7 (576mhz) and launcherRPO, and this new Vibrant is night and day better. I've never used a phone with such excellent call quality, and don't even get me started on the screen. It comes pre-packaged with the full-length Avatar movie to showcase it, and I was seriously awestruck.
Regarding the new processors in fall-winter: I'm not jumping onto that bandwagon until ADB starts showing APIs getting downloaded for multi-core stuff. It's going to be like WindowsXP 64-bit all over again - a fantastic concept, but largely useless until software is written to take advantage...especially since you can guarantee adobe is going to drag their feet writing a port for flash in the new architecture. Adjusting the Linux kernel is easy, its the private companies that will ruin the experience for us.

I am doing a new 2.2 rom this time with a theme when I get home. I got to say that rooted and custom is the way to go it is amazing all the stuff you can do. Rooted I can run titanium backup and when I flash or if something breaks I simply restore my apps with no downloads and all my settings are back.
yea you can def root a droid x so whomever mentioned it prematurely gave an opinion of the phone without knowing. it's a long process but very doable. gonna buy the droid x before i leave with my best buy discount and give that phone to those bitches to figure it out.

You must run 2.2 to run flash. Also the official 2.2 version will NOT have tethering as they say that the hardware does not support it... somehow I have been using it all week and never noticed that it is not working apparently I am not even sending this message right now....
