Unemployment?
I've applied to like 100 jobs in the past 3 weeks. Everything except Mc. Donalds. Why? Because I can starve to death and achieve more than working there.
Besides, if they're always hiring then it might as well be the same as Walmart.. You'll be their bitch, and if you can't do the schedule, they'll just easily find someone else.
Tomorrow I'm calling to ask someone for a schedule, he was deciding between me and two other people and I told him that I took the liberty of learning what I could about the programs he uses.. So hopefully that'll influence his choice somewhat.

in all honesty file for unemployment temporarily.
go to your local library and ask about there reference databases for example [DnB million dollar database] that is a database that lists millions of businesses all over the world, and you can search them by state and county.
they also have job databases, ask about that one and search for an appealing job.
My local radio shack is hiring... Also my bank branch is looking for a part time teller. Seems to be a couple open jobs floating around my parts.

Chef-cooking. My specialties are breakfast and grilling. Not much of a lunch person.
Salmon marinaded in lemon pepper and lemon juice.. Grilled to perfection.. Mmm..
Just found out recently orange juice is awesome for pork chops. Tenderizes it and adds a natural sweetness.
I got my last Social Security check, so at least I have money for food now.. And to go buy a suit so I can dress appropriately for when I become a professional Hitman because the economy sucks.

Bought my first newspaper today.. Every job offering in there was a scam.. Unless it genuinely costs 65 dollars to get a catalog for federal/state part time jobs..
The library had no job database.. Basically they just told me I just go online and look for jobs.. Well what have I been doing every day for the past month? However I did read an interesting short story called Angles from the creator of Ender's Game..
Anyone got any more ideas?
I can't help you because Florida smells.
If you're desperate, you're going to have to resort for those jobs that own your soul. If not... then it doesn't matter. Every job owns your soul. They own your time and your labor.
I had the same problem last year not getting a job for almost 6 months after I graduated from college. The job I got which was a 'professional' one, yet was physically taxing on me ending me up with a black eye. I left the job. Now I'm working temporarily until October at Best Buy watching the cameras and catching shoplifters, and the thing I enjoy the most? The diesel discount. The hot lesbian at my job getting drunk and giving me tips since she's in the Army too. I lived off money I had saved and my tax return for almost a year. If you don't need it. Don't bother.

I guess I can do without a job for awhile, but the money won't last forever.. I talked to a very strange man named Igor who is going to college to become a nurse.. And since I'm going to get my EMS degree, he suggested I go to all the local hospitals and tell them that, and that I would like to apply for a job there.. Maybe it'll work, even though I have no experience whatsoever.. Don't even have my CPR cert. yet..
And I would love to work at best buy.. Can I use you as a reference?..

what time do you go to work? if you do what you stated above, then i should not be going there on your time so i can do my job:muffy:
james, if none of what we said can help you or you wont take then your last resort is either start a small business or join the militarty. if you have been on the military in the past, maybe go back?. but remember filing unemployment wouldnt hurt and it helps big time at a time like this temporarily. good luck and keep positive thinking.
i just remember its august and USPS are hiring this month, its the only time where USPS starts giving test and all that

My family comes from military origins.. I'm simply not built for it though. I can endure and adapt, I just simply don't want to when it comes to the military. Much rather be in the medical field.
How am I suppose to file for unemployment when the only job I've ever had was one that I quit? If I got fired it might be a different story.. Or maybe I don't know how unemployment works?.. (No, I'm serious.. I don't..)
And what do you mean by "if none of what we said can help you or you wont take," specifically "you won't take?"
I really do appreciate the suggestions you guys are giving me.. I've tried all of them so far, apart from selling my gun and swords.... And my body..*cough* Need those for if I need to become a professional hitman.

Zero, I'll work for you by maintaining the servers!-- Wait.. Damn.
i know its hard to find a job. the real unemployment is 20% according to free markets. the government want us to believe its 9% and that their stimulus packages are working.
i've helped alot of my customers to look/apply for jobs and i've met some ending up finding a job out of this country. i've made resumes for customer that are more professional than their previous resumes and still can't find a job. i had one customer who tried to look for a job for one year str8 and found nothing. this recession will soon lead to a depression if the government continues to do the same thing.
here are my suggestions on finding a job:
1. go store to store and ask if they are accepting applications. don't even be picky on a position. at this time i've seen american teens doing day laboring and gardening jobs. if you are applying at a store, dress casual
2. craigslist.com is great site for job search. but read thoroughly on what position and what are the requirements. i've been fooled before
3. check the classified sections from the newspapers on sundays. classified section on weekdays don't have that much info on jobs.
4. if you are knowledgeble in math or science or what ever, you can be a tutor. make yourself an ad and post it on telephone poles or in supermarket. start at $12/hr then increase as you get better. don't be shy, embarrassed or discouraged when you post. u need money. i still posted my ads for my cafe and it has worked. two of my competitors went out of business do to lack in advertisement and bad customer service and they had invested 4 times more that what i had invested for my cafe.
5. (this is optional) type a good resume. alot of jobs would require a resume. best way to find a sample would be on google... make your own and rephrase from the sample
I hope this would not only help you but others who read this. if anyone still has a job but hates it, hold to it because this recession will soon become a depression. oh and uh do not sell your gold. i've seen documentary about zimbabwe losing their currency value and are literaly using gold as their money. US is heading towards the same direction. so you might wanna start digging for gold or buy jewerly at a good price..... seriously. in 2001 gold was $200 an ounce. today gold is close to $1500 an ounce and climbing...
so hold on to your job and save. GL

Stores around here are all retail.. The only places I haven't applied to are restaurants.. Basically my point is, it does no good to walk around town and ask about jobs.. Everyone just says "Oh, go to this website."
I've been looking on craigslist every day for the past 3 weeks now.. That was actually where I got my Hazwoper job. Funny thing though, I made more in a week than my cousin made in 2 months. I shouldn't have quit but it was starting to kill me..
Classified sections from the newspapers on sundays? I bought my first newspaper the other day on Sunday morning for 1.50.. Everything in it was a scam, even the Federal/State jobs wanted me to pay them 65 to look at a catalog..
I can't be a tutor.. Unless it's for basic English or something..

you living on campus?
apply to work at the front desk of dorm
otherwise, contact financial aid and explain your situation. ask them for any type of work-study program or job around campus they can give you. my one friend needed one of those, and the college put her to work in the library. 3/4 her pay went to pay for school, the rest went to her pocket.
colleges need tons of people. groundskeeping, janitorial crap, secretary/clerical work...if you need it, you can't be picky.
for example, i'm looking into applying to work in Drexel's call-center for fall term, evenings, and also the front desk of each residence hall. the residence hall job especially is incredible. because your job is to swipe people's ID cards as they enter, and generally keep an eye on things. you're sitting at a desk waiting for people to come in, and can basicaly study while waiting
