1- Hey everyone ,so am trying to get myself a new laptop after throwing my old laptop from the 4th floor window (hp pavillion dv9000 laggy overheating piece of SHIT).
so i figured might as well getting a gaming one? hopefully 15.6 '' + , with 4+ gb ram and 250 + GB space, with a gd graphic card to support CSS and eve starcraft2 and others?, gd sound card for strong audio, and with a gd core processor? oh yeah, and under 1000 $ ?:icon_mrgreen:
i duno much of brands, but i know that hp, toshiba, sony or asus (any gd?) arent half bad. MAC GO TO HELL!!!! :P hehehehe
So calling out all computer nerds around, and requesting help to find such a laptop?
-------
EDIT: 2- on a side note, i just saw a couple laptops that some are above my budget but seem decent, can u guys give me ur opinion?:
candidate 1 (the one am considering the most now, but a little over my budget, considering am getting myself an iphone 4 and a new fucking car at the same time -.-):
http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/asus-asus-17-3-laptop-featuring-intel-core-processor-i7-720qm-g73jh-rcnx09-black-g73jh-rcnx09/10138987.aspx?path=7ae164b5f229f1ec69a8822aff0ca55 2en02
candidate 2: (not gaming but cheap and kinda solid):
http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/hewlett-packard-hp-pavilion-17-3-laptop-featuring-intel-core-processor-i5-430m-dv7-4058ca-silver-dv7-4058ca/10146845.aspx?path=d534d1ec18bd051e9931c108b4a6129 2en02
candidate 3: http://www.amazon.com/Republic-Gamers-G51JX-X3-15-6-Inch-Gaming/dp/B00361G0ZO/ref=pd_rhf_p_t_2
falls right in budget (999$) and seems decent? what about the G51JX-A1 (1400$) version of it (same page)?
so nways... thats what am seeing at best but, if u have other suggestions, it would be appreciated... again, i think i made my point about too overheating laptops:P

The term gaming laptop is an ugly phrase, you want power? you sacrifice portability. you want portability? you have to sacrifice power. you want both? well your going to have to pay out the ass.
Also we have a PC tech thread you know :D, anyways ill look through some laptops ~800-1100 when im bored for you

why do you need a laptop? i've found that you get a lot more for your money in a desktop. i understand if your in college or w/e but in that case just get a shitty as used laptop.

Heres a good one over your budget
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152196
A better combo with that kind of budget would be a 250-300 netbook and a 700$ desktop with real power. Ill keep looking for you though for something with a lower price w/o sacrificing to much performance.

yes and my 3 year old desktop performs (well until my dumbass roomate broke it....) better than any of those. only judging by looking at the equipment and features, and it was only $1200. gaming laptop=joke

hall...u see, i already have another desktop :P the one i use to rape ur ass in game :D
but i'm gettign a new laptop too, so that i dnt stay away from the GG world when am staying at my friends' place:P
Starsmine, i want power BIG TIME in a computer, bcos i fucking game a lot , and watch movies and stuff regularly and need gd audio and video and thats why i always went for a 17''. as long as the battery can last at least 2 hours if am not gaming on it, and doesnt over heat much.
however,i'm considering downgrading to a 15.6'' bcos i found it easier to carry and work with on a tight desk at university... but either way, let me know man :) and i didnt know about the other pc thread :P

well this one isnt nearly as strong as the other one, this one will play crysis on medium at 1280x1024 at 40fps(but i dont think you will be gaming at that resolution w/ a laptop). That MSI is probably the best power/price laptop I have ever seen, cheapest mobile 5870 (most powerfull laptop GPU on the market) on newegg

i was looking at this one for a while, the price is OK , gd shit in it, but the main drawback i find is the 11'' screen...i mean sure i can get myself a nice external tv screen for a 100 bucks, but at university it might piss me off a tad.
oh yeah btw, am also a programmer :P so AT LEAST a 15.6 '' screen is kinda a must bcos its annoying as fuck to code on a small screen:(
but thx for ur time zero, i might consider the M15X one, just for showing off :P (jk)

Best buy is for newbs and u get raped on price everytime.
Go to:
http://www.refurbdepot.com/Asus_G51VX-RX05.cfm?GDFTRK=gdfV21410_a_7c686_a_7c2343_a_7c763 7&REFERERID=RD_PriceGrabber
Or Alienware but they are more.
I have a similar Asus and it rox. All you'll need for what you do and more
My lil sis has the M15x and if I was looking for a larger screen and weight did not matter much that is what I would buy.
My previous laptop was the model before the m15x back when wide screen laptops did not exist and it lasted almost 10 years. Although back in those days it had a socket 478 desktop chip in it.

The laptop I just bought from Newegg I got for $620 it's an Acer and so far i've only tried css (which I know isn't that intensive) but i'm getting close to 200 fps which is a lot better than the 50 fps I was getting on my desktop lol

lol i love asus too, i was going to get this fucking hardcore gaming machine :
http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/asus-asus-17-3-laptop-featuring-intel-core-processor-i7-720qm-g73jh-rcnx09-black-g73jh-rcnx09/10138987.aspx?path=7ae164b5f229f1ec69a8822aff0ca55 2en02
but due to fucking university fees showing up on same time, i had to limit down my budget to this, just bought it like a few hours ago:
http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/sony-sony-vaio-16-4-intel-core-i7-740qm-quad-core-laptop-vpcf121fdb-black-vpcf121fdb/10146734.aspx?path=62cecc996f9865606eebe6be121d0fd 3en02
which is still a fucking decent computer, love it, but the nvidea 310 graphic card aint exactly for gaming, but play css well i guess!
