West Middle School in Martinsville, Indiana.

My brother watched it happen, the two of them (the shooter and victim) were planning on having a fight when one pulled a gun. He's all upset and I don't know what to say to him to chill him out =/

A victims advocate can do a lot for someone in his position. Call Victim Assistance @ (765) 342-1186 and ask for a referral to a victims advocate for a witness to a shooting. I think that's the right number for your area anyways.

If you would rather talk to him then just use good ol' psychodynamic theory.

Simply put:
1. Create a safe situation.
2. Let him talk about it.
3. Invite and allow him to feel and express their feelings.
4. Help to come to a resolution in due time.
5. Use this as a leaning situation to develop skills in dealing with feelings in general.

The FBI is setting up stuff locally tonight through the weekend for the students, but I mean I feel like I should talk to him and am totally clueless how to help, he's like talking to a rock

You don't have to get him to say anything to help. Just be there for him and hang with him, play some co-op video games, go get something to eat etc etc..

i'd say that you shouldn't start it. take him out for some food, play some magic w/ him, or just hang out in general. eventually, if he needs to talk he will. you can't force the issue, he'll just close up.

THE HOLY SH**T!

I would say just give him some space.
If bad shit happens around me, I take space and stay away from people, and process it.
most people would say talk. if you don't know how that works, just give him some space and eventually he'll open up to you or whoever. if not, then idunno.
