Servers Restarting

A few min ago a large scale DDOS was launched on the game servers. They are currently being restarted and the traffic routed to the Cisco Guard Protection system. This system diverts traffic destined to the server through hardware devices that will try to identify and block the specific packets and flows responsible for the attack while allowing legitimate transactions to pass. The injection will remain in place until this attack subsides and then be automatically removed once traffic levels reach a normal level.

yea, balt and I were on the server when this happened.... strange things happening just before too.... I dropped out of the server twice before they went down. Dunno if this has any relevance but lots of ppl were accusing Blu of hacking just before it happened....

No this is not any sort of normal server hacks. For the data center to put us on the defense network it is a serious business high level attack. If we were on a lesser provider we would not even be able to play for the next day or so.

i mean, wcs isn't in the same data center as the other 3 is it? every trace i've run on its ip says it's in texas.

Here is a pic of the traffic so you can see the attack and how quickly it was stopped. Normally these attacks can not be stopped and thus you are just blasted off the internet for a few days. Also from this you can get an idea of just how much traffic our server really gets.
