How did he/she abuse (See TOS): 5 minute mute, general abuse over the length of adminship

Proof: General complaint, go ask other players what they've observed.

Please note that this isn't about the 5 minute mute specifically, something I don't really care about. This is a complaint about Jerm's general behavior since obtaining admin. I repeat, THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE 5 MINUTE MUTE. This is just the most recent event that has happened.

I remember when Jerm first obtained admin, he was generally well behaved and followed the rules set forth. His behavior as of late has degraded into a "I don't give a fuck" state. He told me such point blank just today, after he muted me and unmuted me for being in smuT. He said, "I don't give a shit," after I told him stuff like this is why I don't like coming to the IBIS server anymore. Your personal feelings about servers and clans aside, this level of behavior is simply inappropriate. In the past I've seen him abuse his powers through slays, slaps, etc simply because he could. I've even heard him say that he'll ban any person that the map winner wants banned.

I know Zero is pretty tolerant of the admins, and he's all about giving them a chance to redeem themselves, but when is it too much? Is Jerm acting on the presumption that his complaints will be brushed aside until they reach critical mass? Or does he (Jerm) really not give a fuck? Will this end up being another Walter?

I like the people in IBIS, for the most part, but I find it annoying that I've had to go to other servers just to enjoy the game because an admin decides he has free reign to do as he wishes.

What Toffee says is the truth. I have been witness to this a number of times, and even made a point, once, to try and knock some sense into him.

In a particular instance where he was unhappy with the way things had gone, he reconnected to exploit the handicap and play again. When I confronted him about this hypocrisy, his response was, and I quote, "I do what I want so ya." After that, I left it alone.

Jerm has been a good friend of mine since I became an admin about 6 months ago, but nevertheless, what Toffee is saying is right on the money.

If I were to field an educated guess, I would say that he probably really doesn't care, because of the high tolerance, and that he'll just slide on by and avoid notice. Since he doesn't do things that are terribly outrageous or destructive to the server population, constantly, I imagine he registers pretty low on the radar.

Those are my two cents.

You know, I'd love to Zero, but all I'm able to provide you is the time from today's so you can observe it through sourcetv.

I made this thread more as a general complaint so that perhaps his usage would come under scrutiny for future offenses. Though, if his message to me is any indication, it won't take long. Guess it's time to start recording whenever I'm in IBIS.

Around 24000-25000 is where you can hear him say he doesn't care.


So, while the action itself wasn't that noteworthy, the fact that he did it over me being in smuT and not caring is what has me irked. Combine that with everything I've seen him do in the past, not all of which SourceTV was up for, and I felt the need to come post here.

That instance that I was thinking about wasn't intentionally exploiting the handicap (although that does happen when you reconnect), but rather reconnecting to avoid punishment. My bad. :P

Okay honestly Jerm, yeah you can have a little fun but not abusively. Honestly now, admin is about keeping the server in order when it is frequently needed, at times. But in all truth if you want to have "fun" do it with someone you know can handle it. (no offense) but it seems to be that our friend here that is reporting your abuse didnt think it was as funny as you did. I LOVE having fun as an admin, But never ever in the time i have had the chance to be admin, have i abused my powers on someone else like the some times slap and freeze games i see going on. Yeah its funny with close friends, but not with guys trying to actually play the game. Remember that next time. This forum is cluttered as it is :3

Jerm has always had a bit of a problem playing well with others. Most of his abuse is marginal enough that there's no reason to post a thread or otherwise complain about it, but it happens often enough to make him stand out as an abusive player. I think he's a little more timid around me with his admin privileges than he is around others, but he does do things like switching to my team and team-killing me in spawn before leaving the server, and team-wounding me when I'm on grenade level, to name a few.

I'm with Toffee on this one.
