So here I am at MLG Columbus where I've been watching some of the best games of my life live, meeting players and fans, and I got an idea. The title says it all- IBIS gaming should be in e sports. It's fairly easy to get in to, and we already have a firm community base which makes it even easier. What do you guys think?

Actually me and jig were talking about possibly sponsoring some pro sc2 players. However, we would need like 4 times as many admins to have the $$$

Getting into the competitive scene is something we have looked at but not something to expect any time soon.

I haven't played SC2 in a while, but i too would be interested in IBIS servers outside of CSS or something..

My suggestion is we start small within our community. Why wait to sponser pros when we can develop them here now? We can do small tournaments first, then start moving into qualifiers for larger tournaments like MLG. If someone qualifies, then we can start talking about money. Esports is getting bigger every year, so the sooner we start the bigger an impact we can make.

EDIT:

Also- a large number of tournament winners and big name players are European and American.

True but the Koreans are the only ones to have actually KILLED themselves playing Starcraft to death. And I should also note the parents who killed their own baby because they were too busy taking care of their VIRTUAL BABY.

The Koreans may be damn good at games but they don't have their priorities straight.
