View Full Version : Temp Admin system/Beta Test

as you all know I have been preparing a new admin system. It currently works on the vip server. As it could be a few days before mani is fixed I am currently planning to switch to the new system until it is fixed. While soon this new system will be perment it will only be on until mani is fixed. Some of you may not have admin on this new system. Do not bother telling me now as there is nothing I can do. This is a temp patch so we can control the servers for now. However b/c this is a beta test please not problems and bugs so they can be fixed before the release in a few weeks. If you do not have admin during the beta you will not have it when the new system goes live in a few weeks and you will need to post/msg me in the FUTURE WHEN I ASK IF YOU HAD A PROBLEM DURING THIS TEST AS IN DO NOT TELL ME NOW.

When I put the new system on I will post in this thread if mani comes out before then we will just do that. So just know that a backup plan is in place and on the way.

Ok, I will be updating the servers now with the new system. It will take effect after a server restart. This is only TEMPORARY, think of it as a sneak test preview of the upcoming admin system.

Please note the following:

You have admin and it works:

Great, you can use and test out the new sytem.
If you find bugs in it please report them in the vip mod section as that is actually the current test server for it.

You have admin and it DOES NOT WORK:

This means that you are not in the new upcoming admin system
This could be for any number of reasons
This will be dealt with later before the system actually launches
Be ready for a thread a few weeks from now that will allow you to report that your admin is not working in the new system so you can be converted.

well this system is currently under development
this is an emergency release so we have some admin until mani is fixed in a day or so
your problem is likely with your subscription itself and will require a few hours of yours and zero's time to get fixed to be on the new system
zero has a life too
zero is trying to just get the server temp fixed so they can be under control
zero does not want you to be without admin but this is the best he can do
zero is sorry


So hopefully it will work correctly. Please post any MAJOR problems with the new system so I can fix them. This would be things that are effecting gameplay and need immediate attention.

ALSO THERE IS NO PERMA BAN ONLY CLAN CAN PERMA BAN on the new system right now, just keep your pants on and be glad that we can get the servers under control. :wtg:

uploading gg server now, the map voting is also updated to a preview of the new system (hopefully it works)

All servers updated temps system in place. If you do not have admin and REALLY want it, you can do the following:


Cancel your current sub
Sign up on the forums and order admin via the forums
Ensure your steam id is in your profile
Use admin after the map changes!


Logically this also means that for now anyone who orders admin/reserved slot will get it by the next map. (on the temp system)

It is still not looking like mani is going to be updated any time soon. If it is not updated in the next few days i may just fix any bugs with this release and process anyone whos admin is not working.

As I am camping I only got a cellphone and a laptop to process anything. Because there has been so much activity it is not really even possible to process it correctly without a better setup. Otherwise it would take a day or so to do. From what I understand the automated system seems to be working without any problems so new orders via the forums are being activated automatically.

rate commands are no longer needed as the 66 enforced tick also forces client rates automatically to 66-67

one time i told mikey that there was this one racist and griefing jackass on wcs, and that i hadn't seen the same name, but i had the steamID, and asked mikey to kick/ban it for a few min to see if he was in under a different name.

so mikey ended up banning himself for 5 LOL

Nope, You can't target an admin with the new admin system... It would have to be the entire server.

I just read the new tos and its saying that regular admins cant perma at all?

Yep, just 30 day bans. This makes it easier to process and ensure that the ban should be perma. This also helps us avoid the problem of when bans fall though the cracks so that an unban is issued automatically after 30 days. In addition by checking over all perma bans evidence it helps us then send that to steam bans so they can get an even bigger boot up their ass.

Oh so since i was banned on Mani which is currently down ill have to be unbanned with the new system? and what about bans from mani itself, will they still be in place and will bans on the temp system still hold once MANI is back up while the Temp system is completed?

Mani is gone. It will take longer to stitch that back together than to fix the few bugs with the new one.

As for old mani bans they are still in place but they just need to be removed manually.
