i personally enjoy the gravity command. :D

and you can identify who used the command, easily..so it's just a matter of f'ing them up for their abuse :)


there are some maps (at least in gg), where lower gravity is cool. now instead of having to initiate a vote, i can just set it. even change it back afterwards :p plus there's total accountability, because it records who uses those commands.

in fact i used the gravity command today to set it in gungame. did a map with a reduced gravity, and on deagle i wanted to see what would be cool. ultimately the players expressed it's fine at normal, so i reset it and left it alone :p

i think the best use of gravity can be with the consent of the players. after all, it's them playing, and they outnumber me. having admin is only fun if their experience in the server is better, or at least not worse, because of me or other admins.

if we want to be strict and to the point about it, no, we don't need the means to set gravity. obviously, evil went a little overboard, lol...and restricting to upper level and clan could also work.

but as i said earlier, we successfully used it in gungame without problems, and when players protested, I immediately restored the normal level. used in that fashion, i think it's cool and can be useful for fun servers. out of hand, like some people (lol evil :)) it gets crazy. hehe.

I asked you if you did it in ZM yesterday too Evil (When me and you were the only admins on.) and you just ignored me, which in then caused me to restart the map 3 times looking for a glitch in case some coding was messed up after Zero just got done with the rcon link.... The gravity RCON is not a damn toy. It has been know many times to cause physics / prop errors.

Rarely after certain maps (deathstar) gravity does screw up on ZM, so it is kind of needed.

Or.... remove the function from abusing admins atm. It will take less of Zero's time and decent admins can still use it if needed.

fucking with the gravity has ALWAYS been a no no in this community. it fucks the stability of the server, can crash it and pisses the masses off. most people who play on our servers play seriously and care about their physco stats and server rank. when you change the gravity you completely fuck with everyone. there's literally no reason any 1 should be fucking with it. admin commands are there 2 help you administrate the server, not for you 2 play with cause you're bored or excited.

for WCS it should be locked. there's no point and or time that it should be messed with on WCS given it would screw with the racial balance of the server. some races get lower gravity, and the majority of the races don't. so screwing with it on WCS would just screw with game play and as most people take WCS fairly serious and want the money so they can buy more xp, it would make sense 2 not allow gravity changes on wcs.

High gravity should be like 1100, low gravity should be 500.

On GG it can be 400, 1600. Pub can be the same way since jumping and fall damage aren't high priorities.

Voting should be the only scenario to where it should be used in GG or ZM to make things fun. Even then it can cause stability issues and may have to be followed by a rcon_restart.

Had tons of fun on pub playing with gravity late at night or early in the morning, sometimes people do want to screw around and have fun. I think it should be limited to gungame or pub, restricted on WCS for sure, ZM I dunno. I think if you abuse it, needs to be taken away from them, imo.

I personally like the ZM max and Min(1100-500). I died flipping a bookcase the other day because it went to 9999. I could see where on ZM, Pub, and GG it could add a little fun. But to me the only way it should be changed is by a vote or after a space map that screws with the server. I also was there when Steamer reset the map on Highschool the other day. So I would either exit out of CS:S or I would be on spectate and press the little 'windows' button on my keyboard to get out of CS:S for a quick second to put different skins. I am always changing the skins on my guns, just for the heck of it. :)

as i've said before, i think it's fine on gungame, even pub. it requires discretion on the admin's part. if they go around messing with gravity and abusing it, it won't go unnoticed. and then, they get it removed.
