View Full Version : Out of Town Sept 2011 Delays

I will likely be going out of town this week for work. I am currently preforming my usual travel backups so that I have a copy of all the servers and website with me encase something breaks. Note that this will cause delays in responding to possible valve updates while I am gone.

What is great is that becuase the admin system is now automated there will not be any delays in activations. Also becuase we have upper level admins they can help the clan evaluate bans and keep new admin in check!

What does suck is that obviously this delays updates for the servers like new maps and races. However, the point of this trip is to reduce the amount of time that I need to work by training some new staff to take care of day to day operations. I will then only be needed for new installs and emergencies.

During my backups the servers may be a bit slow to change the map as I am likely eating the HDD trying to copy tens of millions of files over, so be warned.

Wanted to update you all that it may be another week or so before I am back. I am sure you know how dealing with tech support to fix your internet can be. Now imagine that you are on the boarder with Haiti trying to get your internet to not drop out once an hour or even get 100% of the speed you are paying for instead of 30%. This is the shit that has me still sitting in 90+F rooms calling tech support to fucking fix the internet. Hopefully I can get these people to fix our lines soon so I can head back to the states and be active again.

On another note everyone seems to be doing a great job holding down the fort. I would like to thank the clan and the upper level admins for their great work processing ban requests in this time. I also would like to thank the admins for the great work they have been doing in this time to keep the server in order. I hope to be back soon and can then start working on updates for the servers. :wtg:
