So, can I please be unbanned? I was banned for an unknown reason. I was in the middle of a game, on a killing streak, and once killed the last guy in the round, I checked the chat, like I always do. I saw a message saying "Yaoga! What did I tell you about the spray?" from "Cyber <RageMode> Ibis.a". I was kicked before I could respond or check to see what he had previously said. Apparently, I did miss it.

Now, from context, I assume my spray was offensive... but... I honestly didn't see what he had said about it, so I don't know for sure. I was trying to check when I was banned.

If my spray is offensive or violates the rules, please let me know, and I will change it... if it's the fact that I just spray too much, then let me know that too... I'll do it less often. Whatever the case, just let me know.

As for the spray in question. It has the F word in it... is that the problem? Is it because it has naked people on it? (lots of people have sprays with naked people on it in there).

I thank you for your prompt reply. Even if I don't get unbanned today (it's only for 1d), I'd still like a detailed response about the spray or whatever caused me to be banned, so I can correct it.

While I think this is stupid and constitutes a discrimination against gays... especially when sexual images of all other sorts are allowed (far more disgusting than the image I had which showed only fictional characters with no genitalia), I will comply. I've changed my spray to the face of an animated character I like ('L' from DeathNote). That should be satisfactory.

I was not kicked first... so this would have required an instant bypass. So, why is my ban for longer than an hour?

Also, the requirement says that I should have been clearly warned before the issue of the ban. My interpretation would be that that indicates repeated attempts to ensure I saw the message, preferably getting an acknowledgement from me. As far as I know, there was a single warning... during the middle of a round while I was on a streak. I do not consider this to be a reasonable attempt to notify me. Would you not agree?

In any case, as I said, I will comply, despite my objections, but I hope you recognize that I've been more than civil in the weeks I've been playing on this server, and have made every attempt to abide by the rules, and have politely requested a lift of the ban, so I may play in accordance with the rules from here on out.

as for not being warned, apparently by your own admission you said that you read in chat you were in fact told 2 change it prior and had not yet... and we're banned when you used it again.... if you did not see your warnings... that is your problem.

Point conceded. Hence, I said I would comply. (For the record, I also concede that same point as it applies to the fact that my violation did not meet the rules for bypass and the fact that the ban reason was not made clear to me prior to the ban.)

No, that's not what I said. I said the only message I saw was "What did I say about your spray?" I said I don't know what he said about it... because it apparently happened in the middle of a round, and I was banned before having had the opportunity to check the chat history and comply.

I'm not trying to be belligerent here. I know the spray violated the rules, and I accept that. I'm just asking politely to cut short the ban. If the final answer is no, fine, but I like playing on this server and want to play a bit more tonight (and tomorrow night), if a reconsideration is possible.

Okay, well, I apologize for any offense taken. I personally don't see what the big deal is, but I appreciate the fact that you do. I honestly didn't see any previous messages. I'll take you at your word that they occurred.

I really didn't spray it in your face out of intentional disrespect. It was plain ignorance... ignorance of the rules about gay images and ignorance of the warnings that were apparently issued.

I don't plan on playing any more today, but I would very much appreciate reconsideration in lifting the ban so I can play tomorrow evening.

As for not being made clearly before the point, that is one thing that has happened in this thread. Since we often will take the least amount of effort in order to get a ban processed, we aren't always clear in the ban description. As Panda has said, it was also for disrespect.

Agreed, and that much I inferred. My only concern was that I didn't know what was said, so I didn't know how to correct it. That has been made clear at this point, so I've no need to check the stored logs.

That is completely understandable. But now that a full description of the reason has been made, I can (and have) take steps to ensure compliance in the future (when the ban either expires or is lifted). Without such a description, I would have remained in the dark... so at the very least, I appreciate all the responses to clarify the reasons and a link to the rules (that was very helpful).
