Just wondering, what cities are the servers locations (specifically the gungame server)?

It looks like they're in Dallas, Texas.

I always thought they were somewhere on the east coast cause we used to get a lot of kids from the Great Britain back in the day.

I assume, Zero isn't splitting ISPs, so I'm going to have to say they're all going to be in washington with a Node or site host in Dallas. So when you connect, it's likely you're going through Dallas to get to the server connections on IBIS, then the physical server in Washington.


Or I could be 100% wrong.

Yeah, and the reason I ask is because performing a whois shows dallas but thats just because the company he uses as host is based in texas, so the ip belongs to them, so its pretty hard to tell exactly where the servers are at.

Yeah, I know that. But I think it may have something to do with whether or not it came first. I honestly don't know IBIS history in depth. It seems like he bought a server for wcs, then when he bought more, the ISP used nodes in Dallas. I honestly can't see him using two different ISP's so I think the servers are in Washington and the IP that leads to Dallas is a timeline thing, not a location thing.

it's not dallas. my ping to all ibis servers is consistent. i'm in dallas, so i get pings of <10 to dallas servers, and i don't get that on any ibis servers. all in washington dc from what i can tell

They are DC but the rout may be internal and come out at a local pop or take any isp for what ever ping is lower. We have direct connections to every tier 1 backbone to ensure the lowest ping physically possible to players at any location globally.
