http://money.cnn.com/data/markets/dow/

777.68 ; -6.98%

I believe CNN said we lost over 1 trillion dollars today

Wachovia (WB, Fortune 500) shares began trading in the afternoon, plunging 81%. Citigroup (C, Fortune 500) fell almost 12%.

Oil and gold: U.S. light crude oil for November delivery fell $10.52 to settle at $96.37 a barrel, in the second-biggest one-day plunge ever. (Full story)

Oil prices had plummeted over $55 after peaking at $147.27 a barrel on July 11, as investors bet that sluggish global growth will diminish oil demand. But prices have seesawed in the last few weeks as the financial crisis has intensified and investors sought to put their money into hard assets.

COMEX gold for December delivery rose $5.90 to $894.40 an ounce. Like oil, gold prices had also rallied during the biggest periods of unrest over the last few weeks

Remember that the minority republicans are to blame for its failure if they had voted in place of the 84+ democrats that voted against it would have passed!

Wait that, I can not understand brain going to explode.....

Here is a fun fact do you know where the 700 figure came from!?

Also lets try to remember what made the great depression the great depression and not just a single day of an economic anomaly?

I will post the answers after I give you all some time to think about it or look some of the stuff up. If your interested look up the book the forgotten man, it coverts the events of the great depression.

Dow went up 485 points yesterday on hopes of another bailout......

But today its down almost 200 ahead of the senates vote because of the numbers. Currently its 193 Yes and 215 No with 28 Not Voted.

once again Republicans voted 33% yes and 66% No

Meh I'd rather not let them bailout the corps. Or if they did, do something along the lines of Sweden (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/23/business/worldbusiness/23krona.html?em).

why must we always compare countries? if youre not happy in the best country in the world(in all aspects of anything). then move to russia, france, g.b.(not green bay), or even china. you communist, cult loving homos.

In many ways the U.S. does suck fat dick. But we have the NFL so it kinda cancels the shitty stuff out.

FYI, the reason that the market is getting pwned and swinging up and down randomly is b/c of uncertainty; just the shear fact that the gov is being unclear as to what they are going to do is causing the current problems.

For example:
You got bad debt that the gov thinks that it might buy.
Some guy that wants to buy the debt is making offers
You know the gov will over pay so you hold on to it until you are sure if they are going to bail you out.

At the end of the day regardless of if there is a bail out or not a lot of the bad debt is going to be soled and the companies will have losses but still exist. The difference is who will own the bad debt, some guy that has like 100 years to sit around and wait for the rest of it to come in and make a decent profit, or the gov that does not even have the money to pay for the shit that it already owns...

In the end I have finally concluded that this whole thing really is just a bad idea...

Its definitely a bad idea imo. As much as America has done it in the past we cant just fabricate 700 billion dollars out of thin air.

Its like trying to treat a kid that has downs syndrome with chemotherapy.

Look into a group called acorn and there ties to this mess I recently found them to be the missing link in my puzzle. If anyone has a lot of other data as do I that they have not posted this information once you look in the right places will allow you to justify your conclusions about this problem and what we are really facing with confidence.

In the end we should all remember that the Truth points to itself. For truth stands alone against the darkness, as the darkness is a veil that can only be held up by the actions of others. Seek to understand and not to convict for only though understanding can the real truth be reviled.
