Hey guys I have question
I'm preparing a vacation not anytime soon but in 5 years I have travel plans to go the USA with my motor bike and cross the USA, the plans are to travel from the west coast to the east coast with friends on a motor cycle were planning to take 3 months off maybe longer for this.
I would like to know if you guys have any suggestions what there is to see because were not looking for too much mainstream hotspots but more the little gems hidden in that big country to visit.
Thanks
What is funny is that I have more answers for this if the country was the Dominican republic.

New york is great if yer in the city for a little, then Miami Florida for its attractions and awesome shit (I'd say go round spring break), then you got Colorado which is just sick and I've heard Cali is amazing. Course theres always vegas if you ever run out of Ideas/ money. But yeah I've only been to NY,FL, and CL.

go to south louisiana, get lost, and you will find some cajun you can't understand who hunts alligators. now that would be an experience.

haha, I'm from the netherlands.
Well were just making plans nothing concrete yet just getting information and stuff. Well our idea is to start in NY aka Nieuw Amsterdam since it was our city before it became ny :) and then go south or north because we might want to cross abit trough Canada too but we first want to get as much as info before we make any final.

if you're looking for just natural beauty on your ride and not major landmarks, you would be far better off going across Canada.
really comes down 2 what kinda hidden gems you're after.

This, up threw niagra down threw into chicago or the up into minnesota.. I'd stay away from the west coast unless you enjoy prostitutes, addictive gambling, and funny underwear wearing Mormons.
Edit: any biker will tell you that a Vancouver down threw Washington peninsulas is an amazing ride.

and you can get in bed with owns and tim tebow in the same night!
but for sightseeing, the appalachians are gorgeous. look into going hiking there if you ask me. go see thomas jefferson's home at monticello in virginia, take a tour. nice road going up to it if i remember and it's a pretty interesting place.
