In order to help me get caught up on things I needed a better way to manage the servers. In order to do this I have installed ssms which helps a lot however it has some bugs so I have been spending the weekend fixing it.

You can see the chronicles starting here: https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=175247&page=13

This is a good example of the things you all normally do not hear about b/c it does not directly effect the players. Even when your not seeing big updates being posted up know that there is a lot of little work that goes on behind the scenes.

Also today I corrected some of the lag we get on the server due to the stats updates. I have spread them out so they do not all update at the same time. This reduces the load on the server greatly as it does not need to run it all at once. I also made the zm update every 18min instead of every 10 b/c the large number of players really slows things down. I have also reduced the activity for that server from 20 days to 10 days. This will reduce the number of ranked players which will speed things up and also reduce the activity calculation time which currently would eat 100% cpu for 1min.

In other news I am also working on trying to rebuild my broken desk so I can use the computer better and organize my office and I am also trying to buy an AC unit this week or next so that I can actually turn my computer on in the summer for more than an hour at a time without the room being 90F.

Here is an idea of the difference with the zm stats:

Beofre:

PsychoStats v3.2 exiting (elapsed: 00:03:19, logs: 0, lines: 0)

After:

PsychoStats v3.2 exiting (elapsed: 00:01:25, logs: 0, lines: 0)

That is the load it takes when it is not even updating anything from a new log file.

I will be getting my desk rebuilt and my office reorganized this weekend. This should make it easier and faster for me to start rolling out plugin updates and other work to the servers next week. :wtg:
