Most all the graphics based classes require a mac :/ I would build them a mac myself but it needs to be brought to class... I can build a portable computer but it would not be all that practical.

You do not need a mac to do that stuff. They are being paid by apple to use it for those classes to then force people onto the sit platform they would otherwise never use.

I think what they do is that they only release game breaking updates around major holidays when people are on vacation. If we had money I actually would have been out of town for this update too. In the case of this week there was supposed to be a big meeting with the customer at the same time valve released its update. However as stated previously due to finances I could not go to that meeting. That was the only reason the valve update this time did not occur when I was out of town.
