Try dealing with UMP'S in MLB... one of the most true statements I ever heard was that "Umpires should have their own stats"

as a Fail Ump/Reff can beyond destroy a game, and some are far more notorious for making fail calls over and over and over again...

This is different. This is the first time I've seen active cheating at a professional level. I wasn't kidding when I said these people should be gunned down for what they did. There is no way that this night doesn't go down in history as worse than the Holocaust.

well I haven't seen the game in which you're freaking out over... but I do feel your pain... seeing a reff/UMP fuck everything up is beyond not cool... but I've never seen a UMP or Reff blatantly break the rules or show actual serious forms of favoritism.

if that really went down, and is as obvious as you say... that's fucked.

here's the gif. watch 81 in blue first push #37 to the ground, then NOT EVEN WATCH THE CUNTING BALL. You see #43 get the ball? well they call it a TD for 81.

no, don't listen to a women when it comes to sports.

the personal foul is one thing, but the guy in blue doesn't even catch the ball, yet they say he does, boom, wins the game.

it would be the same in baseball if the winning run is coming home and the runner gets tagged by the catcher, but the first baseman still has the ball, yet they call him out anyways. niggers would gewt lynced for that shit and it should happen here.

for anyone unaware, this has been an ongoing issue in the nfl this year due to a monetary dispute, causing all the regular refs who have been doing their job for years to be replaced by rookies. there's mass confusion in every game, the refs show little to no knowledge of the rulebook, and their calling of penalties is more inconsistent than anyone's ever seen. they'll call pass interference on one play if you breathe on a guy, them not call it in the play discussed previously. its an absolute sham, and it needs to stop because its ruining the game. drew brees, widely regarded as one of the most respectful and tactful players and speakers in the league, came out even before this game saying its a joke. you don't get him talking unless shit really hits the fan.

the nfl came out today backing up the refs. they say the refs got it right. never have i seen such an ass-covering and a blatant lie.

they say it was simultaneous possession. that rule is as follows (paraphrased): if two players gain possession of the ball simultaneously and go to the ground with shared possession, the ball goes to the passers. it is NOT simultaneous possession if one player establishes possession and then a second player subsequently attempts to gain joint possession.

in this case, the green bay defender had the ball to his chest, arms around it, he has possession. seahawks player has one hand kinda on the ball, kinda just wedged in green bay defender's arms. he does not have joint possession going to the ground, or on the ground. he was touching the ball, but had not established possession. since it is not simultaneous possession, the ball does not go to the passers, rather it goes to the first player to establish possession, which in this case is green bay. there is no other way to call that play, that is the letter of the law, the refs blew it, and now the nfl is completely covering their asses and trying to shove it under the rug. it's ludicrous. in the saints-chiefs game, two blown calls resulted in the saints losing. a play was originally called touchdown saints on the field, but was reversed with 0 video evidence. they said the ball hit the ground in the process of making the catch, though no camera angle available showed that. later, a chiefs player tripped...fucking TRIPPED and lost the ball, it was recovered by the saints and run into the endzone but the official called it a dead ball. these two calls resulted in the saints missing out on 14 points, and killed their momentum. the entire situation is just beyond silly. it's frustrating and it kills the entire experience.

well i was hoping the nfl would have a bit more integrity. honestly it seems like NASCAR is the only sports administration that actually gets this shit right. example: at a race a few weeks ago, tony stewart was wrecked by matt kenseth, and was pissed. he got out of his car and chucked his helmet at matt kenseth's car. any other sport would fine his ass, maybe suspend him. in nfl that would be "unsportsmanlike conduct". but stewart received no penalty because NASCAR felt the throw was justified because he was wrecked. point is they handle shit the right way, and they're the only ones i see doing it. the only thing the nfl can logically back up is that the play was upheld after the review. simultaneous possession is not reviewable, which brings up another question, why the fuck not? why are so many things not reviewable if they're tough calls on the field which can be made easier through review?

just found this gem: the nfl hired at least 1 replacement referee which was fired by the lingerie football league because their commissioner felt the game's integrity was at stake.

Sad sad fucking year for football. Only gonna watch my team, even though that will be painful. We already won one and lost one because of asshat calls. Pat's should of won, Eagles should of lost (Ravens). I don't look forward to shit anymore from the NFL. At least the O's can give me some legit excitement, and I don't even watch much baseball.

I thought they had to have possession for a catch to count. The blue guy only toughed it when he was in the air and he landed on hit back. Lets assume no one else is around does that actually count normally? I thought they had to have 1 or both feet hit the ground to establish possession.

What
09-25-2012, 07:01 PM
Its only a simultaneous catch if both players gain possession at the same. The CB clearly had possesion, then Tate put a single arm on it, only when they were on the ground did Tate secure the ball. It was a bad call, but come on it was the packers vs the seahawks, a last second hail mary should not have been the deciding factor.

to me, that's a stupid ass argument. the seahawks played their balls off last night, what was the number? 8 sacks in the first half or something like that? sometimes players have bad days and some have great ones, don't discredit the seahawks' play by saying it shouldn't have been that close, on paper it probably shouldn't have been but that's the way it played out. the fact that it was decided the way it was is a disservice to the league and its players, and also to the fans.

I aint arguing that man, yeah it was a terrible end to the game, yeah it sucked for everyone except the 'hawks and real refs, but the fact that a team who should have easily dropped 30 points on the 'Hawks could barely muster anything, the seahawks might not have deserved that win, but they fought like hell for it. However, even with the bad pass interference call earlier on, and some other head scratchers they could not get down the field. They were outclassed by the team that they were seemingly having their way with on defense.

Bottom line, the pack player just barely good enough to win, and it wasn't enough.

True enough, that game was a defense showcase with refs making dumb calls left and right.

I know some of you may not be familiar with our rules so I'll try to help you out.

Simultaneous Possession comes into effect when both a receiver and a DB (defensive back, the guy covering the receiver) go to catch the ball and both have their hands on it or cradle it against each other. In this case it always counts as a reception for the receiver, regardless of what happens once they hit the ground.

Here are some clips of a simultaneous catch so you can compare:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpStO2F69_k&playnext=1&list=PLC1B36A35359350FF&feature=results_main

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qb01oGbPTrU&feature=BFa&list=PLC1B36A35359350FF

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8K2PbEN7h38&feature=BFa&list=PLC1B36A35359350FF

You'll see in their videos how possession is gained by both players at the same time. Note that possession does not count as who touches the ball first, but rather who controls the ball.

Now in this clip you'll see that the DB (in white) catches the ball, the receiver (in black) gets his hands on it, but as they are coming down his hands slip off the ball, this means he never possesses the ball and it is not simultaneous possession.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1BqkQZCFX0&feature=autoplay&list=PLC1B36A35359350FF&playnext=1

Compare that one to the abortion you witnessed last night.
