Gas shortages here in NYC. People are literally fist fighting to get the last tank.

Traffic has never been so bad before. I travel 5-6 minutes for work if I catch all the lights and coming back it takes me 10-12 minutes. It took me an hour to get to work and 2 hours to go back home!

People are fucking morons here. BTW, I have some awesome videos of the storm. When I get time, I will upload it. I like the part where Im on the Brooklyn Bridge commenting on everything and I almost go over the rail due to the wind.

this is because our politicians are doing their jobs by slowing shit down and fucking everything up as much as possible and you know the electric companies have to wait until captain overprotective says it's ok to go to work.

2 weeks without power after katrina..and i didn't even have any flooding on our side of the lake. i was only around for 1 but just consider yourselves lucky it's not a louisiana summer there. anyways i feel for you guys.

A lot of places have above ground power. So polls and lines got to be replaced and that takes a lot of time. Also as seen in the videos of the storm a shit ton of transformers blew up so all that shit has got to get replaced and that takes time to order them, for them to get there and then install them. Then there is places where relay stations, sub stations ect get blown up and that is a big mess but the big thing is the transformers. It is the same issue we would have if there was a major cosmic EMP blast. The destruction of that many transformers over the earth would take years to replace in first world nations and decades in the rest of the world.
