Fuck that sandy storm

A lot of places have above ground power. So polls and lines got to be replaced and that takes a lot of time. Also as seen in the videos of the storm a shit ton of transformers blew up so all that shit has got to get replaced and that takes time to order them, for them to get there and then install them. Then there is places where relay stations, sub stations ect get blown up and that is a big mess but the big thing is the transformers. It is the same issue we would have if there was a major cosmic EMP blast. The destruction of that many transformers over the earth would take years to replace in first world nations and decades in the rest of the world.

That doesn't really explain it. It's not like we have some crazy alternate power source up here, but when we're hit by the same thing you guys are, we loose power for a matter of hours where you guys have it out for a matter of days. So it has to have something to do other than the hardware. Laziness or inability or something.

For most people its up in a matter of hours. The people that have no power are the ones where every power line went down that head toward their area.
