people are freaking out because a few states have "legalized" pot, which doesn't really mean anything considering how it's a federal-level law.

Wrong. Means you can get away with much more between certain individuals. Explain how that means nothing...On the individual standings it means a hell of a lot.
Make all your last demands for I will forsake you and I'll meet your eyes for the very first time, for the very last.

This will become a big issue in the long run, but as of right now, as long as the govt' is making tax money, they do not GIVE A FUCK. Legalizing pot is a way the State believes they will generate more revenue and get their shit out of a whole. Statistics shows that pot has less death toll versus any other shit out there, so of course the campaign addressed that. It's just a matter of time when other States will address this, and legalize all this.
I mean shit, prohibition of alcoholic beverage lasted not even a minute... And so will this.

This will go either way. Who dafuq quoted "lets grab the popcorn"? Because I feel this thread will be the same. Who cares who won, I feel legalizing weed and the intro to same sex marriage is a bigger discussion in this election.

well with a judge up for grabs in these next 4 years, We will probably see homosexuality to be a bigger thing on the agenda of the supreme courts, and possibly pot but obama has not interest in messing with that as of now.

Indeed, won't lie the thought of transferring to Colorado U. crossed my mind haha. To those of you not caught up on the action, feel free to check out Amendment 64

The federal and state laws obviously do not align with this new amendment, but the 10th Amendment states "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." This essentially means the States have the right to pass laws that go against the Federal laws if not explicitly mentioned in the Constitution. Due to the ever-increasing number of states adopting pro-legalization of medical cannabis, and the negative image of the war on drugs (due to its failure and growing problems caused in the judicial system), the DEA and connected drug enforcement members are staying silent. They point out some good issues in the above article on why we might not see a good deal of opposition from the feds on this state legalization.

This is just one of many ripples to follow. We've been seeing more changes with legislation on hemp/cannabis, and provided we don't do something stupid to merit a danger from the plant, they have no reason to keep it from the general public. Colorado's inhabitants merely took the first step in opening this POV to the world.
