Stupid Scanner

So, my scanner suddenly stopped working, by which I mean I attempt to scan and after about two minutes it tells me it failed to scan to computer.

Any Suggestions?

I have already:
Checked for driver updates, none
unplugged usb, no change
turned off and on
disabled and enabled

nope, at least not with my laptop. It was working fine just two days ago, and now its totally crapped out on scan ability

Edit:
I found a workaround, if I scan to application, I can then send it to file afterwards, but if I try to scan it directly into my computer, it will not work.

IN my case I have a good scanner that they never released vista/win 7 drivers for. So I use my old alienware laptop from 10 years ago with xp whenever I need to scan something. It might take like 10min to boot up but when it does it works fine. lol
