Thread: New Mouse

Well I will say that the RAT is not that high quality but it will not break easily. In my case the wheel broke b.c I tossed it across my desk b/c you dam noobs made me rage rofl. The main reason I like it is that after over 2 years of ownership it is the first mouse I can use for hours and hours and hours at a time without any pain developing in my hand or wrist. All previous mice I have had required me to massage the side of my hand and or apply ice once a week to prevent permanent damage. So no matter how many small issues this mouse may have I would ideally like to fix it b/c I trust that it is good for my health.

Yeah, I don't know if I anything really compares to your RAT/Transformer, you must get some sort of power bonus just by channeling through that. I doubt anything will beat the high tech beast you've been using, but I can't complain with the Logitech Nano's endurance. Going on 5 years, it responds just as good as it always has, being no worse for wear. Because of it's size, you wouldn't hold it in the cup of your hand like you would other mouses, and because of my long fingers I tend to play with it at the tips which can be a little weird for some people (that i've noticed). If I'm ever in the market to look for an upgrade, I know what I'll be saving up for.

Ive used cheap generic ones my entire life, so after the like thousands of hours of vanilla wow back in the day... my wrist and hand got pretty damn tough and immune 2 pain.

will check them both out... see what feels best in the hand. LOVE the look of the RAT though might go for it just on that lol...

That is one strange looking mouse. I'd definitely check out the G9, it's similarly shaped, and Logitech mice are built like tanks. Personally I can't NOT use a G5-style mouse, any other mouse cramps my hand. But, different people, different hands.

EDIT: Caveat - I don't throw my expensive gaming peripherals, ever.

Steel series sensei is my personal recommendation for claw grip style. I have used the razer imperator and logitech (mx revolution, g9, g500 ) and all broke in less than a years time from normal wear and tear and neither company would replace them even though it was faulty manufacturing. Steel series will replace my sensei if it breaks

Nothing wrong with that. I switched to better quality mice for improved accuracy and smoother draw within cad, not for use with gaming.

I used a Dell mouse for 8 years and never had an issue with gaming.

I used a cheap Microsoft optical mouse for a long time and could play just as well. However, it was much less comfortable and didn't even have a scroll wheel, much less a switchable smooth/notched scroll with tilt, extra side buttons, and switchable sensitivity that are standard fare on a more expensive mouse. I make extensive use of the wheel and buttons, and I don't have any hand discomfort, so it's worth it to me. YMMV, use what works and you can afford.
