Thread: New Mouse

  1. Default New Mouse

So my mouse wheel broke and thus I am looking for a new mouse. I had a RAT 7 and really enjoyed it b/c of how it fit in my hand. Note that I had the mouse configured to be as small as possible with a tight grip. Wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations for good mice that hopefully will not break after a few years. I should also mention that I used to have a Logitech G5 but never liked the grip and it gave me sores on the side of my hand b/c of the way the hand rests when using that mouse so anything of that design is out of the question. I would like something with side scrolling if possible but I would rather have something that will be reliable and durable.

In the mean time if my RMA does not go though b/c it is too old then I will try to fix it one last time before spending the $ on a new mouse.

what vehicle does the RAT 7 turn into when it transforms?

Personally, I hate using a wired mouse for gaming, so they have the g700, but that one is about a perfect size, has adjustable dpi on the fly, and has a weight pack. It's a really good mouse especially for the price.

I use a death adder. Simple design, but very functional. The dpi is not bad at all. (Also I have a horrible habit of chewing through my plastic covered cords so the nylon helps. Mild case of pica I know I am weird.)

However I took one look at the RAT 7 and see you're not a big fan of simple. So maybe you should tell us why you don't want the RAT 7 again?

if you liked the rat but want something reliable, the best i could recommend would be a logitech g9/g9x. it's kinda like getting the same car, only this time it actually has sheetmetal to protect everything. logitechs rarely if ever die...hell my brother uses his g9 usually but sometimes he switches back to the mx310 he got over a decade ago. personally i'm using a g400, but his g9 was much more comfortable

shit... I kinda want a new mouse after seeing some of these lol.

the RAT seems pretty badass... but I think id spend most my time starting at it with anticipation waiting for it 2 transform into something even cooler... like a mini fridge full of beer.

the G9 is also pretty nice... might head over 2 futureshop next payday and take a look at those 2...

zero... is the RAT solid? it just looks like it might break easy or a part busts off or something ya know? and I'm sorry... as I know this is supposed 2 be a thread that helps you get a new mouse... but ya got me intrigued lol

I use the Logitech G500 that I bought at FutureShop. I like it and the DPI is correct

I am currently using a Rat 7 mouse with a similar configuration to what you described and I can definately recommend the G9 over it.
It is made for a small tight grip (and comes with two differently sized grips at that) and has a very solid mouse base for accurate movement.
I personally noticed a drop in my GG performance swithing to the Rat 7 so the G9 definately remains my favorite.

Oh yeah... and hello Ibis forums...

If you do not want that RAT7 I will buy it off you b/c I would ideally like to avoid buying a new mouse if possible b/c I can not aford one right now. However, I figured I might as well start looking for a new one as to plan for the worst.
