Thread: Call your ISP/TV provider today

  1. Default

    I never said I felt entitled to special treatment, nor did I plan on complaining to the rep I spoke to beyond 'I'd like to cancel my service' if they didn't give me a reasonable answer or a price I was comfortable with. I'm a reasonable person. Why would I give the poor person on the phone, who has no control over company policy or the handling of my phone call, a hard time? I agree, that's just plain idiotic and anyone who does it is wasting breath and ruining someone's day for no reason.

    From your response, you seemed to be siding with Assassin, stating that as a consumer, I have an obligation to pay a specific price for a product and that the company can set the price at whatever they want and I have no room for complaint or recourse. I don't have an obligation to pay anymore than I agree to and we all certainly have reason to complain because we get ripped off on a daily basis in more ways than we're even aware of as American consumers.

    I'm sure you know all of this, and arguing anything to the contrary is just a waste of time imo. Consider it a miscommunication.

    Me to a T ZERO. Had they not agreed to a discount, I'd be switching today.

    Correct, I think they are confusing this with when people want to break contract if they do not get a better deal. That is a different case b/c you did agree to a time based contract which tied you in at a set price that you agreed to in advance.

    You didn't even respond to a single thing I typed, and I need to grow the fuck up? Please. I've done nothing more than protect myself as a consumer and you're complaining because other people bitch you out on a daily basis (people who I might mention, aren't even fucking ME, asshole). Stop projecting your job miseries onto others and either a) suck it up and accept your job's responsibilities or b) get a new fucking job (for the second fucking time).

    Your response is lawl worthy. I'm not even sure why I'm wasting time responding to it quite honestly.

    Perhaps they are. I thought I made my explanation pretty clear though, and I've also tried to explain myself through further posts. Most went ignored/mostly unread, it seems. Oh well, at least it was entertaining as the last of the work day dwindles down.

    The point of this thread was to help folks out, not start a debate on pricing, consumer responsibility and the United States economy.

    gimp bot was a bot who would take chunks of random posts, then post pictures of people in gimp suits and other full body costumes. like this:

    age his vehicle caused.

    It will be easier to go after the individual driver than the company in this case, as the company can afford to waste more of your time in court. Best bet would be to go after this guy civilly, as you don't need as much evidence and proof as you do for criminal court. There's a chance that his company could settle with you before it even goes to court.

    Your best bet is to sit down with your lawyer and hash out your plan of attack. It's hard to tell you exactly what to do as I don't know what kind of company this is but your lawyer will, and he'll be able to tell you where it's best to focus yo

    Through the darkness of futures past,
    The magician longs to see
    One chants out between two worlds:
    Fire, walk with me.

    Crystal.

    Do not stress trying to explain it to them. For some reason or another, assassin seems to be taking this personally as opposed to something that could easily be discussed without insults or personal attacks. Customers who break contract or ask for these discounts are part of the business and if you are getting negative marks against your employee record because you can not retain clientele then it is up to you to learn how to better succeed within your field or change jobs. Neither are easy, but those are a few of the choices you have. Another choice you have is to get aggravated and angry with the customer base who are keeping your company alive when they are being charged out the asshole for sub par products/services. For some customers, the continued discount past promotional periods make the difference between affording the service at all and not having service. Which would make more sense for the telecom provider, to lose 30% of a customer's subscription or 100%?

    Aco, if "accept it or go fuck yourself" is your reasoning, then I have a brand new car at sticker price to sell you.

    Intelligent consumerism involves getting the best product at the best price and jwtemp is only throwing out some decent advice in that regard. If the telecom company has a system in place to provide customers with discounts past the promotional periods then it is to satisfy and keep clientele that ask for the discounts.

    edit: I do understand that irrational shit heads call and give customer service reps a hard time for no reason. Clearly, these are not the customers being discussed.

    then i apologize. that is what it seemed to be coming off as, considering how temp didn't say anything about fair prices. it seemed that he was saying to demand a lower price, then leave if they failed to comply. temp, i am sorry.

    @SCRIBBLE - Totally concur. Thanks.

    @brett - That is one of the creepiest things I've ever seen. Who has the time to a) come up with that concept and b) write the bot???

    @aco - No worries mang.
